The teaser combined with the Avengers announcements have made Wakanda Forever the coolest kid in town right now. Top 5 opening all time is likely. Though even a $250M opening doesn't guarantee it the yearly #1... |

The trailer looks epic. Nicely done. Introduces the post T'challa world, new villain (lomg awaited Namor!), great visuals and then the money shot of a new Black Panther... major recipe for success. I can see it winning the year now. Or it will be close. $600m is very likely so then it will be a matter of how high TGM actually goes and if it is just out of reach. |

Black Panther will be 26 minutes longer than the original at 2 hrs and 41 minutes. It has Veteran's Day on its opening day so that should help with showings, Thanksgiving it's 3rd weekend, so should have a massive first 17 days. I think the target should be around $200 mil OW, but honestly not really sure what to expect. It lost its star, and it more or less is just standard Marvel fare. So it will be a matter of will people care enough to see it without Chadwick? Or will they come out to support it MORE than standard Marvel in memory of him? It's not a TDK situation where he's in the film. |

Really weak early PS numbers. I think by EOD we will have comps with BP1 at least for some regional markets at BOT but this has had the weakest start among all MCU movies in past year after huge openers in NWH, DS2 and Thor 4. |
