Post Into the Woods Biggest Broadway Musical Adaptation Ever Club
Into the Woods is not going to be sold by Disney as an obscure Sondheim musical. It will be sold as a big fairy tale blockbuster in the vein of Maleficent and Alice in Wonderland. As long as Dsiney doesn't change too much, it will be very good. Annie on the other hand has gotten a mixed response. I think Into the Woods has major breakout potential. I think this will become theI feel it might happen.

Annie has gotten great response from kids. Also Sony is going to sell the hell out of it. It's pretty much another The Karate Kid another movie. Another remake that was underestimated. Also Into the woods is under going 4 weeks of reshoots and with the director track record I would bet to much on it being good.

Great! The reshoots are hopefully killing the Rapunzel character.

And I'm basing it being good on the fact that the musical is fantastic. Rob Marshall seems hit or miss. I liked Chicago and POTC 4, even though most people didn't. I've never seen Nine, so I'll reserve judgment.

Yeah, this. I'm hoping it is to fix the things people were flipping out over (which was exactly when reshoots were announced). Early screenings have been great, so I'm pretty sure they're listening.

It's Disney. It's making the $250m it doesn't deserve.

Annie remake stars a black girl.

America voted and Disney wins.

And that's the truth.

The Karate Kid remake was with a black boy and 171 million. That was not a smart point. Annie being black will actually bring in money.

Then again, it looks like this movie's trailer will never come out, so Annie might win just based on audience awareness.

As much as I want a trailer NOW, Disney will have plenty of time to market it. They didn't start promoting Frozen until quite late as well and we all know what happened with that. I'm obviously not saying Into the Woods will be HUGE like that but just because a trailer isn't out yet means nothing.

Not heard of Into the Woods. Sounds like a horror film. But Annie is a piece of shit, so I chose the Woods film.

Meh, now that they changed a lot of the musical it sounds kind of lame. Also the vignette nature and lack of public awareness for the film is not a great sign either. This film depends completely on the visual elements. If it goes darker, and more realistic like most Grimm tales features, it probably wont do much more than 50 million.

Annie def has more breakout potential IMO.

James Corden and Emily Blunt leading a musical with mostly cameos by some stars doesn't exactly peak interest as of yet.

I don't think they have changed very much. The only thing that really seemed to be changed was Rapunzel was kept alive, which they might be rectifying now with reshoots.

It is quite remarkable how generic Jack Sparrow can make comments. He tries to stay far away from making a specific statement.

Which is fine. It's quite the skill.

He's just here to build his post count up. That must be his only reason for posting, because he types a lot, but says nothing.
