1. Sin City - $15.9
2. Beauty Shop - $15.0
3. Guess Who - $11.9 (-43%)
4. Miss Congeniality 2 - $8.1 (-45%)
5. Robots - $7.9 (-35%)
6. The Ring Two - $6.1 (-55%)
7. The Pacifier - $5.4 (-34%)

There doesn't seem to be a big movie here, so I wouldn't be surprised if Sin City does bigger numbers.

I think Beauty Shop may surprise and #1 might be a little closer than expected. Sin City should still win out, though.

I don't know why Beauty Shop can't be #1. African-Americans movies are very popular in 2005.
BTW, Beauty Shop also gets Alicia Silverstone, Andie MacDowell, Mena Suvari......
Beauty Shop will be definitely first choice for female audience in next weekend.

Sin City - $21.0m (The Punisher, also R, also comic-to-film, made $13.9m a year ago and the marketing, buzz and critical response doesn't even begin to compare. I say an extra 50% from what Punisher got, with decent holds after that)
Beauty Shop - $19.5m (both Barbershop's did $20m+, wednesday opening probably won't take too much off the 3-day, plus this is solid counter-programming to Sin City - although certainly it will be competing with the openers from this week depending on how they hold)
Guess Who - $12.7m (I'm expecting decent holds for a few weeks for this one)
Miss Congeniality 2 - $8.1m (seems about right)
Robots - $8.0m (in line with recent drops I guess at this stage, will wait and see after sunday)

The hardcore MacDowell fans will rush out opening weekend.
Opening: $50M
Seriously, people said that the female audience would flock to MG2, but Guess Who was the better choice, it seems.

Sin City is not without female appeal, as it does have female power as one of it's themes with the girl gang, and has several well known female actresses that are just as big of a draw as those you mentioned. I do agree that Beauty Shop is more aimed toward females, but it's really wishful thinking to think it will be able to top the much hyped , male driven, totally cool, Sin City, especially since it opens sooner.

Wait, 18 million? So you think it'll have a bigger five day then Sin City I assume? I don't know guys, I think that this will do well, but I don't see why it'll be so close to Barbershop 2. There's definitely less hype, and it won't get much any new audiences that didn't see the second movie, only now it loses some male audiences. I do think it'll do well, but Barbershop 2 is definitely bigger then this is. Not to mention while that got over 70% on RT, this is doing awful thusfar critically.
