At my theater. On Wednesday, Millions and Melinda and Melinda each open on one screen.
On Thursday, MC2 opens on 4 screens!!! Could this be a sleeper.
(Guess Who is not available yet).

Wow...and your theater is usually a good indication of what is to come.

Guess Who is on 3 at Scott's theater. Looking good for both.

Wrong, it is on four (don't forget that the running time does not include trailers, and the turnaround between shows is at least 45 minutes.
Also, DEBS also opens here, on one screen. So let's recap.
Wednesday
Melinda and Melinda - 1 screen
Millions - 1 screen
Thursday
Ms. Congeniality 2 - 4 screens.
Friday
Guess Who - 4 screens.
DEBS - 1 screen.
So that means more than 1/3 of the screens are newcomers. Should be an interesting, and a Good Friday (pardon the pun).

Miss Congeniality 2 and Guess Who both open on two screens at the Lloyd Center 18, though Guess Who gets the giant screen. Something called Saints and Soldiers also opens, I think I saw the trailer during Ong-Bak. If so, it looks like a very second rate WWII movie, albeit one that seems to have won a lot of prizes.

We got 3 screens each for MC2 and Guess Who? That's the biggest change I think in the last 3 months for our theater. I guess they're starting the spring cleaning lol. I guess it helps that we still have Ring 2 on only one screen

Also, I am working mid-shift on Friday, so I'll keep you posted on those reports. Also, I was at my theater today, and Millions and Melinda and Melinda were not doing very good, maybe Friday can change that. And speaking of Friday, Guess Who and Miss Congeniatly 2 will take all 8 of our biggest theaters (one 600 seater, one 400 seater, one 300 seater, and one 250 seater each). Let's see how they do.

Guess Who and Miss Congeniality's screen counts are very impressive. I think they'll both do $20M this weekend.

I'm really interested in how D.E.B.S. does so hopefully some people will report on that. At least Scott should get to since it's playing at his theater. In fact, you should go see it this weekend Scott since it's at your theater .

Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous
2:00 show, 250-seat theater, about 45 people (from what I could tell, decent for the time of day, especially considering it's Thursday).
Trailers
The Interpreter
Batman Begins
Bewitched
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Kingdom of Heaven
House of Wax
Movie
I thought it had a lot of slow spots, but I found it enjoyable. It was nothing great (or even that good, for that matter), but it was a decent way to spend 2 hours. Sandra Bullock's Gracie oddly actually seems like a different character than the first movie, but...okay. The always superb Regina King was a fine substitute for The Walking Dullness Of Death AKA Benjamin Bratt. Yeah, I don't really have a whole lot to say about the film, because it's just that fluffy. Overall, though, I thought it was fun. B-

Being a hit has nothing to do with previews,
Fight Club and Titan AE were on Episode I

Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous
250 seat auditorium
85% full, 4:15pm show
The audience seemed to enjoy it for the most part. There was this one guy sitting in the front row who kept snoring, really loudly. It was both funny and annoying at the same time.
As for me, meh. I liked the first one. I have a soft spot for Sandra Bullock, but her character in this one is pretty different than the one she played in the first one, and I didn't like it nearly as much. Which is also the same way I feel about the movie. There are some decent laughs to be found, as well as a lot of missed jokes.

Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous
AMC Marple 10
7:10PM, 400 seats, 85% Full
Trailers
The Interpreter (silence)
Bewitched (lots of laughs)
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (whispering)
House of Wax (laughs)
Batman Begins (lots of chatter)
Movie
Don't look at me! I was forced to see it. Though, it wasn't terrible. It definently isn't as good as the first one, but it wasn't terrible either. A few laughs here and there, though nothing to make me "laugh-out-loud". The story is pretty stupid (as you can tell from the trailers), but the performances were okay. Regina King was pretty funny. Overall, it was okay, but nothing close to the first one. C
Now, tomorrow, I'll be seeing something worth watching... Guess Who.
