Post Spongebob Squarepants - Revised Total Predictions...
With less than a month away now, it is time to compile everyone's predictions for this movie.

From ComingSoon.net:

Release Date: November 19, 2004
Studio: Paramount Pictures
Director: Stephen Hillenburg
Screenwriter: Stephen Hillenburg, Derek Drymon, Tim Hill, Kent Osborne, Aaron Springer, Paul Tibbitt

Starring: Scarlett Johansson, Alec Baldwin, Jeffrey Tambor, Clancy Brown, Rodger Bumpass, Bill Fagerbakke, Tom Kenny, Carolyn Lawrence, Douglas Lawrence, Jill Talley, David Hasselhoff

Genre: Adventure, Animation, Family
MPAA Rating: PG (for some mild crude humor)
Official Website: SpongeBobmovie.com

Plot Summary: There's trouble brewing in Bikini Bottom! Someone has stolen King Neptune's crown, and it looks like Mr. Krabs is the culprit! Though he's just been passed over for the promotion of his dreams, SpongeBob stands by his boss and along with his best pal Patrick sets out on a treacherous mission to Shell City to reclaim the crown and save Mr. Krab's life.

My View:
The show is hugely popular in the United States, and it is still in the top 10 most watched cable shows, even though it hasn't had a new episode in a year.

Opening: $70.5
Total: $350.0

This is THE movie of the winter. It will take Return of the King's spot.

I don't think it will drop that hard, it's got Thanksgiving its 2nd weekend, so it could something of the Shrek 2 2nd weekend sort when it faced The Day After Tomorrow. I think it will be on top for 3 weekends until Ocean's Twelve.

Opening: $70.5
2nd Weekend: $47.2 (-33%)
3rd Weekend: $17.9 (-62%) Bad weekend
4th Weekend: $13.4 (-25%) Nice recover
5th Weekend: $8.2 (-39%)

It's going to have a nice run.

I may be in the minority, but I think that this movie is going to be another one of those "love the TV show..but why go to the theatres and shell out money for it?" I also think it will be hurt by all the other kids movies and stuff like Bridget Jones and National Treasure which will interest the adults who may bring the younger kids to it. I'm thinking $15 to 17 million opening and maybe $60 million overall.

Off topic, but whoever is hotlinking their avatar, please don't i get screwed up pop up boxes to insert password.

And also, i think it's illegal in some way, not that they will catch you or anything, but it's semi-bothersome.

I predict that this movie will open with 18 million.

I think it's matatonio's signature. It happens in every thread I go in that he posted in.

That's a terrible multiplier for a family movie. I believe even Cat in the Hat had a better multiplier.

You're underestimating the popularity of Spongebob.
