Not as much as i expected for Ring 2 but still good.

Robots can get almost 3800 and Ring 2 can't manage 3500?

Hrmm. I know Robots is a kid's movie and anything 3200+ is very good, but that still suprises me.

I like this, actually, it's rather refreshing to see an event film not go the over-super-saturation route, heh.

I thought for sure that M$B would start pulling back this week and dropping some.

super saturation for a horror movie isnt always a great idea; smaller theater counts for big event pictures strangely seems to sustain them better.

Ring Two needs $15,000 pta to pass $50,000,000 :S.

Anyways ICE PRINCESS only needs a $3,600 pta to grab a nice $9,000,000

Yep, I'm now thinking an opening in the area of $40-45M for The Ring Two.

March 25 Estimates
Miss Congeniality 2 - 3,100+
Guess Who - 3,000

Updated. Passion Recut falls 680 theaters to 274.

Also Ring 2 is getting clobbered by critics, its at 31% RT score compared with The Ring which had over 70%. I know it probably doesnt mean much but I cant remember any sequels that has almost a 40% difference between movies opening that well. It sure didnt help Matrix Revolutions or Blade Trinity that much

Shouldn't effect the opening, but don't expect a 10x multiplier ... legs should be 3.0 if lucky

People forget that The Ring was never all that critically lauded in the first place. As long as TR2 brings the scares, people likely won't care.

Yup, I recall reading negative reviews from both Roger Ebert and James Berardinelli.

It doesn't even have to bring the scares, people just have to want to be scared, and they'll exaggerate the heck out of how scary it is like they did to the first one. :yikes:

For all of your sakes, I am rooting for this at the box office, and you know why. :candle:

Much lower then expected for The Ring Two. Good for Ice Princess, but very bad for The Passion Recut. Will it even make $500,000?

Ebert gave it 2 stars, I wonder how the sequel will fare.

The Ring had 73% approval compared to Ring 2 which would stay around 30%. Thats a 40% difference in grade. Sure it may not hurt the opening but the legs will be affected

How can you say it'll stay at 30% when it only has like 20-30 reviews?
