The Grudge was criticly bashed and it grossed 39mill dollars,The Ring 2 is a sequel to a very popular film,its gonna do 50mill+.Has anyone noticed that movies that are not criticly acclaimed are doing big B.O?

Horror is the most underpredicted genre here. People think that $50 million is too high for a horror movie, but it's absolutely achievable. There's a good chance it might fail to reach $50 million, but I doubt it. I laugh at the sub-$40 million predictions, though.

This has infinitely more going for it then Cursed, and you know it man. ;)

I think that's fine for The Ring 2. The Bourne Supremacy and Rush Hour 2 were in fewer theaters, and they did very well. Based on the Regal's action of putting it on one screen in most theaters, I think it's likely that Dreamworks is demanding an extremely high percentage of the gross. I remember when they were requiring 90% for Road to Perdition. Something like that would explain why the theater count is so low.

A little surprising i have to say, i was expecting Ring 2 to be in at least 3500 theaters...

I'm beginning to have doubts about it being able to hit $60m on its first weekend...
