Corpse, what is the expectation for Sonic the Hedgehog 2 when it is released on 19th August? Being that it's from Sega and they're Japanese, but it's U.S.-made, is it likely to flop like the first did?

Sonic the Hedgehog seemed to open in week 26 or 27 as per Mojo, but it still performed badly. I wonder if the pandemic lingered longer for kids movies/family outings. I guess I'm trying to find a reason why it did so poorly and in turn why the second might dramatically increase, lol.

Why has everything dropped like a bomb today?

Kingdom 2 and Minions 2 both opening this weekend probably dealt a heavy blow to all the other movies. Even Top Gun fell over 40%.

Well actually there is an error in mimorin, it is only reporting numbers from 170-175 theatres. Not the usual 270 theatres.

Take that for example. The first number is the ranking position. Then the ticket sales. The last numbers is a percentage compared to last week.

What is the 36,600, 286 and 174?

I take it the 174 is the number of theatres then?

36,600 is the total seats available.
286 is the number of shows.
174 is the theatre count.

Blogger posted that the system hasn't been able to track AEON since the 12, so that's not just a yesterday or friday problem. Sounds like blogger won't be able to fix it for a while so just don't trust mimorin too much for now.

Aeon is the theatre chain yeah? How many theatres do they have in Japan?

Aeon is about 25% of the market iirc so just use 45% instead of 70% for your estimates based on these numbers.
