I'm going to say Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy with a $40 + million opening.
House of Wax will be lucky to get anything above $15 million for an opening.
Kingdom of Heaven will probably fall in the range of King Arthur and Alexander with around an $18-$20 million opening, possibly a little more. The most I'd give it would be $30 million.
xXx 2 will do around $35-$39 million opening.

Gotta go with XXX: The State of Union. I see it opening with around $38-40 million. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy shouldn't go far beyond $20-25 million while Kingdom of Heaven will benefit from the Ridley Scott/Gladiator factor, but wil ltimately disappoint like Troy/KingArthur/Alexander all did. I don't see it making much more than $35 million in its opening weekend.

You may be right. I think Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy will do quite well because it seems to be rather family friendly, and should appeal to both fans of the book and the general movie-going crowd. We shall see on that one though.

I'm going to say Kingdom of Heaven like usual MAY kicks it off.
it should gross between $50-$65 mill.
i don't think XXX or HH will come close to those.
XXX should top $30 but not much more.

There's a good chance that all 4 films combined wont surass the oening weekend gross of Siderman!!!
But I'd say:
XXX State of the Union - $37m
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy - $32m
House of Wax - $24m
Kingdom of Heaven - $38m

hitchikers is way to esoteric and way to British for the masses - it's a fanboy special express to mediocre BO.
I'll go with the new xXx to lead the charge...

XXX 2 $38
The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy $30
Kingdom Of Heaven $45
House Of Wax $12
I think Kingdom Of Heaven has the best chance, and will make the most money of the four.

The predictions for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy are way too high. It's not going to be THAT high. It'll open to around $25-30 million. House of Wax will do somewhere between $10-15 million, and Kingdom of Heaven with around $25 million.

Wait, what now? Nothin personal baba, but that is some seriously wonky logic man. Sony's been doing everything to say "THIS IS THE MOVIE THAT'S GONNA START THE SUMMER", not that it's going to be like The Punisher and get people ready for it. The barely marketed Mean Girls just showed that people are getting ready for the summer movies earlier then ever, and this has way wider appeal then Hitchhiker's Guide, which as cool as it looks, will suffer from Disney's very poor trailer choice, what's sure to be a confused marketing campaign, and an overall sense of weirdness. I think xXx 2 will double it's opening weekend, it just seems to be much more of an interent hype movie then one general audiences will flock to.

Hitchhiker.
I hope you guys who are saying XXX2 realize it stars Ice Cube and not Diesel. I don't see the public just saying "oh who cares". Before anyone points to Fast and Furious 2, they didn't change the lead in that. Paul Walker was the lead in both.

But no one saw the movie for Paul Walker, no one talked about it. I know a lot of people who love the movie but it wasn't because of him. And this has a much better trailer then xXx or either of the Fast and the Furious movies. Sony is a genius at marketing, and Ice Cube is definitely becoming more and more of a star.

I think it will be Hitchikers Guide, although i think the humour may be a little too british for huge success in the US, look at how Sean of the dead did, although this is a completely different genre. In the UK it will definitley be Hitchiker.

It will be XXX2, although Star Wars will be the first one with a REALLY big opening.
Hitchhiker's Guide will be a nice hit. I see a total of around $72 million, which is not bad considering it only costs like $40 million. Hopefully it means sequel and with a bigger budget.

XXX2 will probably opene to a 15 million or more higher margin gap than Hitchhiker's guide but I think Hitchhikers Guide will probably have more staying power

I see Hitchhiker's Guide opening with like $17 million and XXX2 with $40-45 million. The latter will sink like a stone and the former will have excellent legs, maybe the best of the summer behind War of the Worlds.
