I've been seeing ads for the G-rated live action family comedy Ice Princess, starring Michelle Trachtenberg, Kim Cattrall and Joan Cusack. Mark my words - this is going to be a surprise hit. According to my niece, she wants to see this more than anything else coming out for a while. It looks like it has similar appeal to 2001 surprise hit The Princess Diaries.

It opens March 18, as counterprogramming against The Ring Two. Although it faces Miss Congeniality 2 on March 25, I still think a performance of around $55-60M is doable.

This one definately has potential to be a 50m dollar hit. I still can't look at Kim Catrall and not remember Sex and the City, heh. But still, the world of mouth amongst youngsters is great! I think it will be a suprise hit.

This will do Miracle numbers.

Total: $57.6 million

I strongly agree, especially since this is Walt Disney Pictures first major movie. Then again, it has the second weekend of Robots to compete with. Though the ads have been getting females interested, so who knows.
