Mario shifts to Easter next year from Christmas (April 7, 2023) and Puss In Boots is shifting to Christmas from September (Dec. 21st, 2022). https://deadline.com/2022/04/puss-in-bo ... 235009625/ Feel that's a pretty big show of confidence to shift PIB into a high profile spot like that. It actually has a chance to outdo the original now. Mario opening next Easter feels like they'll be launching the summer season. It's going to be massive, especially coming from the creators of the Despicable Me Franchise. |

Yeah, don't hate the move. This Christmas looks to be crowded but can coexist hopefully like Christmases pre pandemic. |

If Sonic can do $175M, Mario's stayed a lot more relevant and could see do $400M+. Feel it's going to be a Simpsons Movie watercooler zeitgeist type movie event that everyone has to see to avoid FOMO. TLK, BATB doing $500M+ makes me think this is entirely possible in a best case scenario. Given how badly Nintendo felt about the live action movie there's no way they'd let this go out to release if it wasn't a quality product so makes me think it will be a winner. |

Shazam moves to December 21. Opening same day as Avatar was always dumb so at least it'll be closer to Christmas and should at least beat the first considerably. |

THE HUNGER GAMES: THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES November 17, 2023 I could see this do ok or bomb. It has an actual Hunger Games in it this time unlike the Mockingjay films, but obviously the book is far less popular than the original trilogy |

Those 4 movies still did $650M+ each worldwide so actually surprised it took them 7 years to greenlight this. Enough goodwill still here that could see it pull $100M+ at least domestically. Think ID4's sequel type run. |

Dirty Dancing 2 is coming in 2024! Jennifer Grey is returning as well as they are chatting with Swayze's estate. Apparently it's Lionsgate's bestselling title of all their catalog?! Salem’s Lot has officially moved to April 21, 2023. I was hoping at most it would move back a couple weeks not several months. I need more Lewis Pullman damnit. Plus I don't think it's going to do as well in April. It had that perfect post Labor Day horror spot. |

There's no way Secret Wars is coming in November. I wonder if they're just using it a placeholder to scare other studios away, then when they're ready to announce the real Nov 2025 movie SW will be pushed to May 2026. The whole Phase numbers doesn't mean anything anymore if we're zooming through 4,5 and 6 in just four years, but its nice to have a goal in sight. |

Very annoying and yet another blow to theatres. Absolutely no need to do this now. Quite possible it’s just not a good film and they are trying to maximise both theatrical and streaming $$ while they can. |

They're so desperate to make Peacock happen and are sacrificing a bunch of money in the process. This is going to be the first bigger movie since Bullet Train. Way to screw over theaters. It was dumb when they did this with Halloween Kills and it's even dumber to be doing it now. |

Aquaman actually moved to Christmas 2023 lol Apparantly WB can only afford to release 2 films this year, Don't Worry Darling and Black Adam... lololol from trying to bolster their streaming and kill their 2021 slate to torpedoing their streaming service... seriously what a company. |
