Suicide Squad bombing ended the day and date release strategy. WB is stuck for the rest of the year but it will never happen again. We had a good ride though! |

The constant rescheduling is confusing. Seems unnecessarily costly too if they're advertising any of the release dates in the marketing, and having to go back and change those dates. I haven't seen any ads for it without actively searching for them though, so maybe no release date has been advertised. The marketing from my perspective is just about non-existent. If I didn't know about it, I wouldn't know it was even coming out. In fact, I don't think I've seen a single TV spot or trailer. |

Reminds me of TMNT 2. A negatively reviewed original that had decent WOM regardless, but curiosity only went so far as the first film. Venom plus Carnage should be a good enough sell for 40-50m though. |

Feel like Super Mario during Christmas time, not ever having a good film version, and with that cast could be a major box office smash. Would not be shocked by an Alvin or Lego Movie type run. |

I agree. Super Mario has lots of potential they just need to have a version that is good and exciting and not just pleasing fans of the game. Needs to be imaginative and/or adventurous like recent Jumanji movies. |

Netflix plunged on growth numbers today with their biggest drop since 2012. They took Disney down with it. The pressure from Wall Street on subscriber growth is going to be big in 2022 so could see them put non-Pixar tentpoles on earlier. |

Mmm I highly doubt another MCU film will do that. If they do they'd have to be pretty desperate. Honestly the whole streaming only being based on growth is gonna be bad, I don't see how they could think they'd constantly get high percentages of subscribers if most people who want the service already have it... |

I'm wondering if Paramount clearing their schedule has less to do with covid and more to do with Paramount Plus being such a massive bust. The extra few months won't do much in the way of box office, but it will give them plenty of time to renegotiate those contracts with Netflix, hulu, etc... |
