Then I don't see it mattering. If it were a key part it might draw in some of the black crowd, but in a brief role it won't even be noticed.

May isnt light but its not scheduled properly.

Star Trek a week after Wolverine.
Angels all alone.
NATM on Memorial Day weekend instead of the weekend before - and only one week before Up.

All bad scheduling decisions.

Star Trek should switch with Angels, Then Wolverine would have died down by the time ST was up to bat, and Angels will flop anyway.

The summer could do with a couple of non-summer or no release date movies.

The Surrogates and Duplicity would work well in the summer - June especially.

The Time Traveller's Wife, Kick Ass and The Road could also find summer slots in June and July.

There are already a lot of flops in the summer. I mean, either than the big ones in May, My Life in Ruins, Next Day Air and Wild Child look like huge flops.
In June, there are a couple of iffy projects that may flop.
There isn't going to be any small breakout movies that's for sure.

Uh. How can you tell that?

The thing with "small breakout movies" is that no one predicts them to do that. Hence, "breakout"

^ Ah, I meant in May, sorry.

Because all the obvious films are obvious. Ghost of GFs past, I expect to do WHIV numbers.

The others are not going to breakout, unlike last year, where WHIV, Made of Honor, Strangers etc weren't expected.

I really don't understand what's going on with this movie and why it hasn't been scheduled yet, but it should really be put in summer. I would've given it the June 26 slot opposite Transformers, but My Sister's Keeper is already there.

^ Haven't heard of Kick Ass, but the other two, I've been anticipating a while now.

The Haunting in Connecticut moved to March 27 from original June 19 date to take advantage of less competition for what is reportedly one of the studio's (Lionsgate) highest testing films in history.

Sequel is already in development. It does look like the type of PG-13 horror film that does well and its producers at Gold Circle Films have had success with this type of film before (White Noise).

On another note, Sandra Bullock's All About Steve has been pushed back from March 6 to an undetermined Fall 2009 date.

=S

Not that All about Steve was going to do well but really, movies keep on shifting out of the already light schedule.
Haunting in Connecticut was always listed as limited in BOM so I really didn't know about it.

I think 2 or 3 movies moved out of February earlier on including Youth in Revolt and Possession.
Some retarded film, Vanilla Gorilla, moved out of April.

Come on! They may be crappy films but you can't keep moving them everywhere.

Oh, Haunting moved to 27th of March, I thought it was the other way around.
It's a stupid move though. You now have opening on the same weekend:

12 Rounds-> WWE movie? It'll beat 10m.
The Accidental Husband-> Delayed so long, bomb.
Adventureland-> Potential to breakout
The Haunting in Connecticut-> Horrors always do well
The Janky Promoters-> Could appeal to urban crowd.
Monsters Vs Aliens-> Always going to do "blockbuster" numbers.

Really though, Husband should move to Watchmen date. Some counter-programming although it'll still tank.

Boooo All About Steve moved. Oh well.

If Watchmen opens by itself, that's highly reminiscent of 300, which I believe once had two or three movies scheduled against it before the studios balked and moved all of them.

The Kristen Bell-Josh Duhamel romantic comedy When in Rome will open August 7. Against Julie & Julia, which strikes me as sort of strange. I think they'd be better off opening in either July or a week later in August.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that it'll never be released. Anyone know what the longest-delayed film ever is?

WTF where have you heard that? BOM and IMDB still have it listed as may 1. If it does move up two days I think that is a really terrible idea, I can't see how those two days would help at all, seeing as their not holidays and school is still going on.

Yeah, it's not on BOM or ComingSoon yet but I read an article somewhere about that.

What Lecter said. Delgo is a possibility at 6/7 years or something. But there's probably some that were delayed even longer.

And they should just released Accidental Husband already.
