Hey, at least Shrek and Star Wars are entertaining fiction

The Passion of the Christ beats any film to cross $400 Million. It is a masterpiece, unlike Shrek 2 or Star Wars, theyre shit compared to Jesus.

'Cuz as we all know, Jesus Christ was involved in the making of The Passion. Some of you people are kind of like sheep to be herded. You see anything Christian, and you say, "I must support that!"

lol *sigh*
..yeh and youre like a sheep too, because you see anything with that farce title on it: "sta Wars" ... i swear if there was a porn film called that directed by George Lucas it would still make about $200 Million from twats like yourself.

I bet it's still just to tell the story and not for more money, right?

Of course it is for the money. But I still support the film.
The re-release will also be international according to IMDB.
Any predictions for its new final domestic gross?

Cuz we all know that you like to make asinine comments that are completeley unfounded. People were simply discussing the box office potential of this movie. I did not see any massive predictions that could possibly warrent your, "Sheep to be herded" comment. It seems more likely that you see something that has a Christian context to it and dismiss it out of hand. You don't like the movie, fine, but to catergories fans of it as simple "sheep" belittles your arguement against the film.

I don't think so man. A church near me told everyone to go to Diary of a Mad Black Women, and my friend said they never talked about the movie being that great but just the faith message. Shit, some Jewish kids at my school are dragged to every Holocaust movie by there parents, it's all the same.

Personally, I am expecting the film to gross anywhere from $10-$15 million on this re-release. I don't think it will make enough to pass $400 million, but it is possible.

I'll have to see the final theater count, as it is estimated at 500-750 currently. The original release was estimated at around 600 but quickly ballooned to over 3,000. While I don't think that will happen this time, I do think it could easily be over 1,000.

Hmm...$15-20 million. Depends on final theater count. It's getting a ton of advertisement, though.
And yeah, it's definitely greed on Mel Gibson's part, but hey, I can't blame him. I'd be a greedy fatcat in his position too.
Religion is a great potential monopoly.

I think it will get to about $385 million after this run.

Says the guy who says nothing compares to Jesus. It's tantamount to me saying Looney Tunes: Back in Action deserves $400 million more than any film in history because nothing beats Bugs Bunny.
Now go weep over the first three pages of Rocky VI's script.

I was looking at movie times, and I am noticing that the running time is 6 minutes longer than the original version. Is there added footage or something?

It's six minutes shorter.
Watch, this will be a religious argument soon enough.

My final prediction....
Opening: $7.0 ($7,300 PTA)
Total: $23.0
I think it will underpredicted yet again, but who knows.... we haven't had a wide rerelease in awhile for anything.... E.T. is the only thing I can think of.
