Great numbers for all the BP nominees. Wow. After Friday's disappointing numbers I wasn't really expecting to see The Aviator increase over 50 %:

Ugh.

As Brian Levant is the Prime Minister of Hell, Satan must now be controlling the box office.

Maybe besides the snow, the black moviegoers weren't excited with the newer openings, and they stayed with these.

Look at how well Are we there yet and Coach Carter are doing?

Are we there yet - $17,000,000 - -8.5% - $39,112,000
Coach Carter - $8,000,000 - -24.2% - $53,555,000

Fantastic for Hide and Seek. Right along the lines of what I was expecting. I knew the R rating would have no affect.

AS I mention with the Fockers that Hoffman and Babs brought in added BO $. Besides the R, with Deniro in this, were there more older Deniro fans that normally wouldn't go to this type of horror movie. That had to add something to the 22 million take.

ALONE IN THE DARK [terrible pta]

Zing, It looks like without the snowstorm it could have made $24M last weekend. This is turning out bigger than Snow Dogs/Kangaroo Jack.

Holy shit! What a low drop for Are we there yet. I'm impressed by Aviator's numbers as well. And I can't hide my joy that M$B did somewhat disappointing numbers

It looks like $100 million for the Aviator. =D>

Could Are WE There Yet hit 100 million too?

Are We There Yet will hit $75 million, that's for sure. I see 25% drops from now on.

I think it'll drop 40% from now on. There were too many people that couldn't check it out last week because of the snow storm, so the 8,5% are enormously inflated, but it will do great numbers no matter how you look at it

Woah.

Are We There Yet? could be the suprise hit of the year.

Great for AWTY? awesome.

Nice for everything.

HIDE AND SEEK, another horror number 1 $20M+

Author:  BJ [ Sun Jan 30, 2005 3:48 pm ]
Post subject:

AWTY didnt make up any of the money it lost for last wknd over the wk days like the other films did so I think that led to a robust second wknd. Wow and without even having a holiday to help it

As for the rest of the top ten, there are some great drops nothing all that big so Im happy  Alone in the Dark is a super dispointment both to my derby and the studio that released the film. Hide and Seek opened with around 600 thousand more than I was projecting so thats great. Overall great wknd and I think that there could be an increase in box office$$$ next wknd even with the super bowl on sunday

Hide and Seek, great number, hopefuilly it can make around $60 Million and more total.

Are We There Yet? nuff said.

M$B, great increase!!! Looks to be having a Mystic River performance, and hopefully it might win BP this time around, seeing as though there isnt an epic or a LOTR's to beat it.

Meet the Fockers has shown tremendous staying power, i reckon it can still get to $300 Million, when it does, films will getting that amount all-the-time.

Alone in the Dark  why so low.

Elektra, nice drop

Oceans 12, seeing it soon, love to see good films get good numbers!!!! :)

Ray? could it get to $100 Million? im seeing tomorrow, hope its good!!!
