I think for a moment that since Elektra has now 3000+ TC, poor-reviewed ad campaign, bad reviews & WOMs, 70% drop and $1000 PTA in the 2nd wknd; I hope it'll lose 2000+ TCs to make 20th Century Fox feel bad, whether it'll or won't break Gigli's record. Here's the poll

Wow, a somewhat non-stupid thread. You've moved up on my chart and have left Archangel biting the dust. Congrats!

As to the question, nah, I don't think it will have as bad a drop as Gigli because this is a slow season and there are enough theatres to go around. That being said, it will drop big.

Its going to drop hard, but i think some theaters may give Elektras bad performance the benefit of the weather doubt.

I strongly doubt it can win worst picture or worst actress at the razzies though - ive said in my opinon this film was well done and entertaining, but theres no way Jennifer would get worse actress for her performance there - i watched J.Lo in Gigli, who hammed up even hammier dialogue, i watched Madonna kiss feet in Swept Away and i watched Mariah Carey "act" in Glitter. All performances far worse than even the weakest acting in Elektra - which was skewered more for other elements - rather unfairly might i add.

In terms of critic wise, its going to be interesting to see what those omnipresent critics decide to review even less highly - perhaps something that they didnt get bribed enough for?

It'll lose around 1500 theaters. It's not a trashed movie like Gigli was.

But remember, Fox is releasing it's next movie, Hide and Seek, next weekend, and in 2800+ theaters. It won't take all of Elektras, but I would not be surprised if Elektra ended up being at 1000 next week. It was the emptiest theater at the Lloyd Center 10 Friday night.

I doubt it will break Gigli's record, but it should loose around 1200-1300 theaters over the next weekend.

I researched numbers of Battlefield Earth, and it had 3000+ theatres and almost the same PTA as Elektra each wknd. In the 3rd wk, it lost 700+ TCs. In other words, I think Elektra will have the same thing but potentially grossed more than BE did. So I must've gone too crazy with craziest predictions.

So Elektra's the first movie to lose 1600+ theatres from 3000, correct? I expected more, but oh well!

BTW, this thread should be closed on midnight or right now.
