Big week-week drop for O12  Ok for Lemony, but predicted a 50m weekend, looks to be heading for 40 m. Lets hope for a big saturday increase.

Wow, nothing is a stand-out hit here. I mean Lemony Snicket did good, but I was actually expecting a bit more than that. Spanglish did all right, but nothing extraordinary. Flight of the Phoenix crashed and burned.

Pretty good for Lemony Snicket, but it's not as big as most people were predicting.

Ocean's Twelve's hold was decent. The drop should be right around 50% for the weekend.

Spanglish was a little on the low end of my predictions, but it should still be a solid performer during the holidays.

Flight of the Phoenix is a flop. Christmas will probably allow it to reach $20M+, though.

Closer held on well. Although it added theatres, that's still an increase of $300,000.

...and I'm sure that's where we'll hear it last. A movie opening with over $30M around the holidays not making $100M would be ludicrous.

It WILL make it. Sorry, guys. Jim Carrey and the holidays will take this one past 100m. It is a mathematical certianty. If it were any other time of the year, I might consider it. Not now.

I bet you can't say something clever about each film in the top ten.

I'll give you one...Christmas With The Kranks? More like Christmas With The Blanks. How about Ocean's 12 is drowning.

Lemony Snicket will definitley make $100 million...if Cat in the Hat can, then so can this. I expect it to around the same amount for the weekend ($37-39 million)

And according to my calcs, Ocean's 12 will end up with about a 45% dropoff for the weekend, which really isn't that bad. Blade: Trinity on the other hand will be about 60%. I expect Spanglish to be this year's Something's Gotta Give or Mona Lisa Smile where it doesn't do so good opening week but well over the holidays. (Especially since it's the type of movie that familes can go see together..then agian, they might just go see Meet the Fockers instead)

How did you get only a 45% drop for Ocean's 12 based on fridays number of 6.4 million. Lets just say it increases about 20% on saturday based on last weeks number and drops 30% on sunday. That would still give me under 20 million. 50% is more like it

As for Lemony Snicket, Im very surprised by its low number considering Jim Carrey usually has huge openings with the Grinch and Bruce Almighty. Cant say Im surprised by Flight of the Phoenix's number, the movie looked more like a fall, spring release

I think this is a great opening for LS. I have never heard of Lemony Snicket before and I think this film is being sold simply on the fact that JC is in the title role. I agree with Libs, this film will be a lock for 100 mill. If it reaches 35 for the weekend, then net weekend is Christmas and with the kids being out of school, it will do very well. Also, Am I the only one who thinks that Spanglish opened decently? It has a terrible trailer and the only thing that looks good about it is that it has AS in it. I think that if it makes 10 mill this weekend, it could end up making 45 mill.
