I don't know, but it's apparently the case that most elementary and middle schools are out for this holiday.

The Polar Express isn't doing good at all. Warner Brothers has a flop on their hands.

I think it'll somewhat recover on the weekend .. remember, this is a more family movie than incredibles or shrek .. people between 15 and 30 are less likely to even want to see it .. this is more kids and parents.

1. Yesterday was Veteran's day in America.

2. Not all schools were out. Missouri schools were out, but not because of Veteran's day. This is the first time I ewver remember getting off on V. Day. Yesterday and today are state teahcer's meetings. I'll check later about other states. I need to do that anyway for a research thing.

I believe kids have family honors of their family generations, esp. when they're in WWI.

With Thursday's estimates, what are this weekend's predictions?
Another big rise on Friday possible?

A 20% Friday increase will give it ~$45m for the weekend; a 25% increase will give it ~$47m. A 50% increase will give the film a $55m+ weekend.

Shark Tale had a 261% increase. That is totally insane

Look at Shark Tale's increase. I guess people were catching it before it's taken off from over 1000 theaters. It should suffer a big drop on Friday.

Go Incredibles! :D Polar Express was expected, should make around 25 million (or more if it's lucky) for the 5-day weekend.

every school around me was out yesterday and Incredibles just kicked Polar express around the corner.

So far today (fri) Polar has picked up a little steam but Incredibles is still taking the cake.

Based on the numbers compared to what we did yesterday and what we are doing today so far look for Polar to have around a 7 - 9 mill Friday
