You guys know what to do. For now, here are my early predictions for just the openers.

The Polar Express- $32.2 (3-day)
Seed of Chucky- $15.0
After The Sunset- $13.4
Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason- $4.5 (500 theaters)

Ok, here be mine early predicts:

The Polar Express- $27.9 (3-day)
Seed of Chucky- $12.1
After The Sunset- $14.2
Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason- $3.8 (500 theaters)

For those of you who underpredict Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (yes, I am talking to you, Corey and Zing ;) ), remember, Love Actually opened last year in November against The Matrix Revoltuions in 576 theatres with $6,886,080 and a PTA of $11,950. Now Bridget Jones 2 is the first chick flick to come out in a long while and it has a following which loved the original that was huge on VHS and DVD and did very well in theatres. ;)

Here are my predictions for the openers:

The Polar Express (3-day) - $36 million
Seed of Chucky - $9.5 million
After The Sunset - $$16.4 million
Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason - $8.1 million

Love Actually had its release date and platform set long in advance, while Bridget Jones just moved its, so I think there will be a good portion of people who are not aware that it's coming out this soon. I see a high PTA, but not as high as Lecter is predicting.

You might be right. I don't live in the USA and I don't know of the awareness of the people and of the marketing of this movie. I don't know if there are many TV spots saying when it will open or no. I just figured that this movie should have a much higher PTA than Love Actually because it already has a built-in fanbase.

1. The Incredibles - $45 (I see a slightly lower second weekend than Finding Nemo)
2. After the Sunset - $20 (lThe Italian Job numbers)
3. The Polar Express - $19.5 (Tom Hanks has become an unreliable box office draw, plus major competition from The Incredibles)
4. Ray - $9.7
5. The Grudge - $8.8
6. Bridget Jones 2 - $7.8 (rabid fanbase for this movie)
7. Saw - $7.4
8. Seed of Chucky - $6.8 (the people who haven't seen either Saw or The Grudge--I can't see them picking this movie over one of the former)
9. Shall We Dance - $4.3 (competition from Bridget Jones=slightly larger drop)
10. Alfie - $3.4
**Sideways - $1.6 (very similar to The Motorcycle Diaries numbers except should be slightly better)
