It is unbelievable how well SAW is doing in UK, seriously. It is going to outgross Fahrenheit 8/11, The Terminal and Shaun of the Dead soon, maybe even King Arthur! Great and a very unexpected success. The Grudge should have been released last weekend, for the Halloween. It would have gotten the top spot. I am wondering how huge the opening of Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason will be... |

Predictions for next weekend. (Nov 5 - 7). NEW RELEASES: THE GRUDGE BAD SANTA BIRTH After horror movies having a really strong year in the USA, and here in the UK (Especially: Open Water, Village, Dawn Of The Dead, Gothika and Saw) THE GRUDGE looks like it will top the chart. Over at http://Www.Sky-Is-Falling.co.uk the two predictors (me being one) predicted Grudge at Number 1. Their predictions range from £2.2M to £3M. Shark Tale, Alfie, new entry Birth and last weeks holdover Finding Neverland look to round out the top 5. Here's MY prediction report, which you can see in full at this link: http://www.sky-is-falling.co.uk/weekend ... tions.html "1. THE GRUDGE: Massive marketing on this Number 1 US horror Smash! Word of mouth is already fantastic, screenings are reporting sell outs, and it seems everyone is hyped up! I might be taking a bit of a risk, but i think The Grudge is going to open over £3M. A great chart topping number. 2. SHARKTALE: SharkTale should have another week in the top 2. This has actually turned out to be a massive hit in the UK. With word of mouth still spreading, i rekon Shark Tale will gross a little over £1.5M. 3. ALFIE: After jumping up to 2nd last weekend, Alfie should drop to 3 with a decent gross of about £500,000. We'll need to see next weekend, if Alfie can carry it's success here in the UK, over onto the US. 4. FINDING NEVERLAND: After dissapointing last weekend, this Depp, Winslet oscar contender should drop to about £400,000. Marketing has came to a stand still, and i haven't heard any sort of word of mouth. 5. PRINCESS DIARIES 2: Another decent drop to keep it safely ahead of the original...probably rolling on: Princess diaries 3??" |
