That's the minimum # of screens I expect from each theater. Shark Tale booked 7 screens at Scott's theater, so The Incredibles should do at least the same.

5 Incredibles (20 shows)
1 Alfie
sneak of Sunset on Sat @ 7:30
Im amazed to see some of the theatres getting 2 prints of Alfie, looks like the studio is just hoping to make some cash by flooding the market as the pta wont be very high at all. Personally Im sticking it in our 100 seat theatre, im not expecting a single sell out

It doesn't seem to me like it is...seems pretty equal.

The Incredibles
AMC Marple 10
1:00pm, 400 Seater, Sold Out
Trailers
Christmas with the Kranks
National Treasure
Cars
Son of the Mask
Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Movie
Is it incredible? No. Is it the best Pixar movie? Yes. This movie was far more entertaining than the other Pixar movies, and it's definently my new favorite Pixar flick. But, that doesn't mean it was excellent. Infact, from what I heard it would be, it was kind of dissapointing. But, I never have high expectations for animated films, and I guess that's why I enjoyed this movie so much. Comedy-wise, it was funny, but not laugh-out-loud funny. Very well made movie, with some amazing animations with a great story, and an interesting villian. Just a fun, little movie with a fat super-hero guy in it. B+

The Incredibles
Cedar Rapids 16
1:35
Sold Out
Trailers:
Racing Stripes - some laughs
Madagascar - some laughs
Cars - no real reaction. Personally, looks horrible.
Pooh II - some laughs.
Revenge of the Sith - No reaction.
Oh wait, that's right. They didn't actually show the trailer.
The movie-
Kids seemed to enjoy it, even though it's light years more adult than Finding Nemo. The laughs are few and far between, but James Bond films aren't really that funny (this film is really more Bond with super powers than it is Superman). Dash is a instant classic, and Jack Jack's reveal was great.
So if you like Bond, cool gadgets, lava fortresses, henchmen, animated sexual innuendoes, and a jazzy score, run and see this film.
A+

The Polar Express
Cedar Rapids 16
4:00
About 60% full
Trailers:
Racing Stripes - some laughs, I think I might hate this movie.
Lemony Snicket - some laughs
New Pooh movie - some laughs
The Movie -
It's looks great. Well, except for the kids, most notable the black girl. She looks horrible.
I would compare this movie to Willy Wonka and Chocolate Factory. Death and danger hang like smog over this film. It seems that in every other scene, a kid could die in some horrible fashion.
Some of the action sequences are very intense. My favorite is when the train blazes up and down a series of tracks unlike any rollercoaster on planet Earth. It then slides across a frozen lake without brakes, while the ice begins to crack. It's very exciting and I look forward to seeing it in IMAX 3D sometime soon.
Then there's the elves who don't seem very happy at all. Some act like extras from The Sopranos. Others seem to delight in an almost religious fervor over the arrival of good old Saint Nick. I've seen some reviews compare the North Pole to Nazi Germany. The comparison is not lost on me.
Is the film bad? No, not at all. I think Bob Zemeckis did a great job with the technology available. I just can't believe that in 10 years, families will gather around their wall sized plasma televisions on Christmas and watch this film. It doesn't have the heart of an instant holiday classic. It feels more like an exercise in excess or a demo reel for future CGI projects.
Maybe this film will open doors for other films to use cutting edge computer animation to help tell wonderful and exciting films. But during a weekend where The Incredibles uses similar technology and does a much better job, it does make you wonder. What was the point?

Saturday
The Incredibles
Consolidated Theatres Majestic 20
7:15
About 80% full
Trailers:
Chicken Little - good reaction
Spongebob Square Pants - no reaction (suprisingly)
Cars - reaction from the adults; null from the kids
National Treasure - no reaction
Episode 3 - NO FRICKIN' REACTION!
Movie: Woooooow! Best superhero movie, ever. Pixar knows it's limits: They're nonexistant! While some of the material is dumb, the movie itself is always beautiful. Animation, like most Pixar movies, is always a notch above the predecessor.
Some of the sequences are satirical, and the movie has enough to keep the kids and the adults going. Quite an experience. And, yeah, loyal's right. The scene with the baby was hilarious. I might be one of the only teenagers who can admit laughing out loud to scenes of ludicrosity directed at younger ones. Frankly, I was laughing a lot more often than the children. There's a lot of stuff for the adults, a la Shrek.
My prev. favorite superhero movie was, well, Spider-Man 2. The Incredibles is MUCH wittier. The dialogue, with the exception of a few one liners (compared with every one liner in SM2), isn't cheesy. The one thing SM2 had was the amount of tension in the action scenes. The Incredibles is pure enjoyment, and only at a couple moments are you even a quarter from the edge of your seat.
The one gripe I have with the film is the final sequence in the city. It's VERY fast paced, and, at a few moments, you have no idea what's going on. This could be due to the matching uniforms and the clash of superpowers.

The Incredibles
1:30 PM, Saturday
Weihrenberg Campbell 16, Springfield, Missouri
Trailers:
Star Wars: Episode III - great teaser, tons of talking
Madagascar - people may think this is too much CGI now
Christmas with the Kranks - moderate audience reaction, I was surprised from the laughs of kids, not parents
Son of the Mask - There was a certain order of reaction throughout the trailer. First, was "cool it's the Mask". Then, "Hey, where's Jim Carrey?" Next, "Wow, is this really the Mask sequel?". Then, "What the heck is going on [baby is flying around], I can't tell what's happening". Then it all went downhill from there.
Cars - Not as strong of a reaction as I would have thought
Mini:
Boudin' - way too long, audience wanted it to end and get on with the Incredibles. Though there were some laughs, it was a bit too weird.
The Movie:
The Incredibles has some reeally slow parts in it, but it made up by the most intense action scenes I have ever scene. You are pulled into them and you feel like the characters. They are also amazing put together (especially the one with the mom stuck in the 3 doors). This movie sufers from the same environment over and over, but that was just me. Frozone was very cool ("Put the water down!" - police , "I am thirsty. I want a drink." - Frozone). Audience at first seemed to not like it, but about halfway through, everyone is getting excited and is really into the movie.

The Incredibles
Edwards Mira Mesa Stadium 18
7:05 (675 seater, 97% full)
Trailers -
National Treasure - Some talking, I'll see as my mom told me it looked good.
Chicken Little - Some laughs, not too impressed yet
The Polar Express - Some laughs and talking, looks blah to me.
Christmas with the Kranks - Nada. Looks horrible.
Star Wars Episode III - When the trailer ended, LOTS of cheering.
Cars - Some claps, doesn't look too good though.
Movie -
WOW. This is one of the best films of the year and Pixar's best film. From the previews I was a little turned off so this film was a hell of a surprise. Very entertaining, funny, and the animation was GORGEOUS. The Incredibles is one of hell of an incredible movie.
- A
The crowd loved it, cheers and laughs here and there.
My mom and dad left about 5 minutes into the movie as they thought it was too... childish, and told me "why do you want to watch this, it's for kids!?"

Pointless and devoid of any fun
The Incredibles
11: 30 PM Willow Knolls 14
7 People in a 300 seater
EP3 Looks Awesome
Lemony Snicket OK
Cars Looks Dreadful
Spongebob
Boundin' was awful.
The Incredibles is the worst movie Pixar has made. It is a James Bond movie without being fun, kinda like OHMSS, if you know what I mean. My kid wanted to go home after an hour. My wife hated it and so did I. The best part about it was that it finally ended after the most boring two hours at the movies this year.
I did not find anything inventive about the script or the movie. The only time I even chuckled was almost at the end when little baby Jack did all the impersonations. This piece of crap will not have good legs.

Considering nearly everyone that saw it seemed to have loved it except for you, I'm not sure that's a fair assessment.

Haha! Thats such a stupid review its funny.
7 people? So it was you, your wife, and kids, and what, one other person? I find that SO impossible to believe unless you were watching this movie in some Wyoming ghetto in the middle of nowhere in some vicious natural disaster where nobody is at the movies. It so implausable its friggin hillarious.

He saw The Incredibles in Peoria, not the largest city. But still even at 1130 PM, I find it hard that only 7 people were there.
I think people can have different reactions to the same movie. I also think The Incredibles is a very smart film, so maybe if someone was looking for a simple little cartoon, then yes, they could be disappointed.
Very odd review indeed.
