The Incredibles Thread - Chris and Sako win total gross!
Well, here we go, The Incredibles is less than a week away and the anticipation is rising.
Here is some info on other CGI-animated movies:
Monsters Inc. made $17,390,000 on its first day on its way to a $62,577,067 weekend gross (multiplier = 3.6)
Finding Nemo made $20,208,056 on its first day on its way to a $70,251,710 weekend gross (multiplier = 3.48)
Shark Tale made $12,920,846 on its first day on its way to a $47,604,606 weekend gross (multiplier = 3.68)
What do you predict The Incredibles to make on Friday?
My prediction:
$19.5 million

I don't see why Pixar won't continue their trend of increasing opening day gross, considering the reviews for The Incredibles are as glowing as ever. $23.1M.

I don't follow numbers until the weekend and the total, of course. So for an animated movie, is this Friday really a big deal? And maybe you can include in your Incredibles tracking and prediction thread? That would be interest to track.
Anyway, I think Saturday is the big day to see how this film's weekend will be. Maybe tommorrow you can set that up. That would be interesting to see.
Go for it, Doc. Make my day.

More theatres than Nemo but it's the fall, so it will probably make $20-20.5 million opening day. Since its mainly a kids/family movie, most people will go over the weekend. At least The Incredibles doesn't have as much competition as Nemo and Monsters both of which opened in busy weekend.

36M Saturday
26M Sunday
85 million weekend

15m at most, I think Shark Tale has taken some of the demand away for another CGI movie so soon. It's definately the best CGI movie this year and deserves to make more than S.T., and Shrek 2.

Monsters Inc opened the same weekend as Incredibles wil be...Nemo opened in the summer, my point ? School/work is still in and will hurt the 12pm - 4pm showtimes thus causing tickets sales to not be as high, however it will jump HUGE on Sat.
Opening Friday 19m
