My goodness now you are naming tv documentaries. Stick with you arguments about the NBA finals and tie ins. No one really watches tv documentaries

thats not the point! the point for the tv docs. and tie ins is that only the BIGGEST MOVIES get them.
last years the big tie in movies was episode 3. in 04 it wa sspidey 2. in 03 it was matrix reloaded. in 02it wa sattck of the clones.
and in 06 it is SUPERMAN.

yeah, pirates has m&m and mcdonalds. supes also has conests. there sthe quaker oats find superman and win prizes, and pepsi has this huge one going called "find lex luthor" that involved 7/11 nd all pepsi products. there huge billboards in my super market of superman advertising it, and basically you can win 1 million by buying a pepsi product and looking under the box/cap and finding lex.
i think superman easily wins in terms of tie ins, but it needs them waaaaaay more then pirates does.

I think that Superman Returns can actually be helped by its second weekend being against Pirates. There will be people who want to go to Pirates but will see sold out shows and not want to wait several hours (or have to go to another theater) before there's an available showing. Superman Returns will be the default compromise second choice, a movie they otherwise would not have gone see at any time had Pirates not been sold out.

Every big movie has tie-ins it matters how they're used. Last year F4 was doing clever things with the NBA and such same with X3 this year, I havnt seen anything of that sort with SR. Just a bunch of pictures plastered all over the place, that sooooo makes me wanna see the movie, sure it gets the awareness, but what does awareness get you if people arent interested?

you know something ..
every poster i come across, every trailer i run into, every tv spot i chance upon, Superman gives me more of a Daredevil feel than a Spiderman one.
Is it just me or is that a terribly awful vibe to get? They can bombard us with whatever they want but as long as the marketing for this one remains that of a B Grade character, 200 mil is looking like the best it can do. even batman, with its horrid marketing felt more like they're going for an epic .. hell, even FF4 felt like they're going for something ....
this .. this just feels like a project not being taken seriously and is there for light hearted fun.

the film itself!!!
the film, from no means, looks anything outside of Camp!! the ads are unimpressive, there is no high point in the commercials but just a mediocre growing of anticipation that really .. goes no where.
the showest trailer is still the best thing and the only good thing i saw from this film. everything else ... bleh. and i'm one of the few that likes brandon routh as superman

I'd prefer an avatar bet to the banning one actually, just because IMO it'd be more funny to have excel with an avatar of my choice for a month rather than actually having him gone.
If he turns me down though, I'll join that bet.

I've already got Magnus in an avatar bet.
You should get excel, and someone else get revolutions and neo_wolf, so we can all make them have the same ridiculous avatar when Superman bombs.

So wait, how will that work Magnus? If you're banned, you won't be able to display the avatar.
Maybe when the month is over, the next month(August) will be when you pay off the trixster bet?
EDIT - Nevermind.

And yeah, put me in that ban bet as well now. If I have a side offer with Excel or Rev, the loser will just have to use the avatar when they get back.

So the avatar bet with trixster may not come into affect until November.
That's fine, it doesn't matter when you display it, as long as you do.
We should probably set a length of time that we're required to show the avatar. A month sound good?

Whats with all this ban stuff? Why do we want to ban each other now? Should just have a avatar/sig change or name change.

It just indicates how much they believe Superman will have an OW below or above $75 million.
