I'm digging the tone shift in both tv spots. Just goes to show you can still make a movie look EPIC and COMPELLING without making it look grim and depressing. That is just the right kind of juice the marketing for this flick needed.

However I am wondering will Batman have a backseat like in TDK or will he have more of a focus?

I didn't feel like he took a backseat. If anything the movie was nearly perfectly balanced when it comes to screen time of characters. I feel like these days only the (super)hero gets to do his thing and as a result the rest of the characters are paper thin.

Its good they are pushing the film a lot.

No film simply cruises to breaking records.

You need to create tons of mainstream hype and buzz and hysteria...
They keep going like this it will likley break opening records.


The only thing that can hurt the film is if wom comes out of the film being nowhere near as good as the 2nd.

The marketing is featuring Bruce a lot more than TDK's, which was primarily about the Joker. Hopefully the marketing is a good indicator that they'll focus more on Bruce again like they did in Batman Begins.

And I completely disagree with your "nothing epic about it" comment regarding the fighter jets over a burning Gotham. Gotham is in deep shit and they're calling in the Air Force. I'd say that is the very definition of epic.

Overall this has been a great week for TDKR excluding that crappy orange poster we got at the beginning of the week. WB seems to have rebounded nicely and I'm sure after this week the buzz will be through the roof. Also, it's not even June yet which makes it even better.
