@sako and Rogue: The third instalmant of Meet The Parents is a lock. The Third for POTC will depend on how much success POTC 2 has considering that movie will require a huge budget.
@Dr. L: I know I was just giving you a hard time. Since the difference is going to be less than $30M it can be attributed to the summer legs.
Another oddity: POTC was loved by both audiences and critics. MTF woas loved by the audiences but not the critics and it made no difference to its blockbuster grossing capability.

I thought that the two sequels were going to coming out like the Matrix, or LOTRS?. Months apart?

Goldie don't pick fights. Leter is running a great thread, if you want the info, you post it.
As for Pirates of the Carribean ... there will be a 2 and a 3. They are scheduled to release a year apart. I believe, but could be wrong, that they are going to be in late (december?) 2006 and 2007?
POTC 2 starts shooting late 2005 and wraps in january 2006.

It's already neater without the rest. I want people to know that this is a box office thread and Lecter's working very hard on it. We don't need talk about anal sex, homosexuality, and idiotic comments to be in it.

As were mine.
Also it still would be nice if the dates were on the days / weeks as the above is comparing apples and oranges.
POTC final weeks were during the summer while Parents is happening now. So NO BIG surprise that POTC is pulling away.
Also another question, already asked but Z deleted, will Parents beat Home Alone, Is that still the #1 comedy.

I think it has become clear by now how amazing Pirates of the Caribbean's legs actually were. Its total should beat Meet the Fockers' total by around $25 million.

I am glad that you understand the legs of the POTC - I personally knew this was going to be the case based on POTC ending during the summer. To me, the summer has always been the key.

Yeah, I really didn't ever think MTF would make it to $300 million, although it sure did give PoTC a run for its money at one point. Excellent run though, and can't wait for the DVD!
