"Revenge of the Sith" is expected to debut in more than 3,700 theater locations when it opens Thursday, with an estimated 9,000 individual film prints, making it one of the widest releases ever.
The link is in my $150M thread.

Final predictions (well, maybe not Star Wars)
1. Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith 45 million opening day, 33 million Friday, 38 million Saturday, 27 million Sunday. That's 98 million for the weekend, and 143 million for the four day. I do think it has 150+ million potential, and I bet it'll be estimated at that or more, but I don't know how well it'll hold up for sure.
2. Monster-in-Law 13.5 million
3. Kicking and Screaming 12 million
4. Unleashed 5.9 million
5. Crash 5.2 million
6. Kingdom of Heaven 4.9 million
7. House of Wax 3.2 million
8. The Interpreter 2.5 million
9. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 2.3 million
10. Mindhunters .8 million

Box office prophets really suck. I thought the BOR forecasts sucked, but these are even worse. Do they really believe movies that didn't wow people with their box office last weekend are going to have such low drops in the wake of Sith?
http://www.boxofficeprophets.com/column ... umnID=8973
1 Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith 3,661 $92.5 ($34M Thursday) ($126.5 4-day)
2 Monster-in-Law $16.2
3 Kicking & Screaming $12.3
4 Unleashed $6.1
5 Crash $5.7
6 Kingdom of Heaven $4.6
7 House of Wax $3.4
8 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy $2.8
9 The Interpreter $2.7
10 Sahara $1.3
Seriously, I'd be embarrassed to put my name and rep behind such lousy predictions.

They've always been awful. Just this year, they predicted Cursed would open with nearly $35M.

That's just awful. I don't know how they keep any credibility. I've never really thought much of a lot of the net experts, but BOP is pretty lame.

At least it's not as bad as the BOM average predictions in the derby. Some people must being going pretty high on the holdovers, and yet Star Wars's average is way below what most of us at KJ are expecting.

BOM's average predictions are quite ridiculous a lot of times. Many of the people who play the derby are just clueless and playing an online game for fun, so they are terrible at predicting. Quite a few of them aren't into the finer points of the hobby . Heck, a lot of people who are into the finer points of box office predicting still suck...lol

When you have averages, it bounds to be skewed. Each week, there are folks at BOM derby who enter 100 for almost all movies. If one does that this week, it will increase the average for all the holdovers and decrease Sith's.

I know. I don't think my predictions are going to be exactly right down to the .1 so I predicted a 4-Day number that sounded nice. 139, isn't that a great number?

Their Thursday prediction is $46 million (with midnight shows).

I have a question and didn't know where else to post it so I figured it wouldn't hurt to post it in here. Anyway, I have Box Office predictions for the movies opening the weekend after this weekend until the end of June. I searched the first three or four pages and couldn't find any thread to post them in. Is there one for predictions for this summer's movies? I mean I don't have ones for all of this summer's movies yet, but for the movies of June at least.
