Well Amityville had a good run in the Top 5 for some time now so this was inevitable.. I look forward to the Platinum Dunes loaded DVD..

Despite its modest opening, Amittyville has shown surprising but very deserving legs. It still has a chance of getting to a 3x multiplier, rare for a horror film, especially this year.

When will the losing steak vs. last year end?

Next week vs. the opening of Troy seems unlikely.

Then even if Sith breaks out and outperforms the opening of Shrek 2 I doubt anything will match the seond week of Troy and third of Van Helsing even though they were declining fast. So even if Sith breaks the total box office could trail last year.

I guess the losing streak will end in the memorial day weekend. ROTS second's weekend + Madagascar opening weekend + The longest Yard opening weekend will probably beat the second weekend of Shrek 2 + the opening weekend of The Day After Tomorrow.

On a side note, i'm really starting to worry about Elizabethtown. Orlando Bloom has failed to prove in KOH that he's a box office draw. Kirsten Dunst definitely has an audience of her own, but she failed to open Wimbledon to more than 9 m. I really like Cameron Crowe's work and i want this to gross at least 50 m.

This film should go a long way in showing that films liek this are definitely on teh outs and OB is not quite ready for prime time. I'm glad this film failed. It just felt so generic. It was like Scott couldn't think of anything differeent so he went back to what was comfortable. As for Crash, I think it is a phenominal number, with an great per theater average. House of Wax pretty much tanked, well not really, the budget was low, but it really will have a hard time makeing 30 mill.

I think Ridley Scott made it instead to show the others how to make a REAL epic. Too bad the trailers were so bad.

Like how theres a blacksmith who becomes essentially the king of Jerusalem who roused his army into battle? =;

Oh, and why didn't Orlando Bloom's character become king? "No, I don't want to be king because it would be mean to Ghi, and that is bad. I will completely ignore the fact that if I don't, then thousands of people, the same one's I am rambling onabout protecting the entire movie will die."

THE MOVIE IS RETARDED :swear:

How is it any more retarded then a gladiator fighting the emperor of Rome and being allowed to kill him in front of thousands? :wink:

And that goes back to how his father told him when he was on his death bed to be a perfect night, and helping assassinate the husband of the women he'd been sleeping with would be a biiiit much.

Why do you need to bring up the stupidity of another film to justify the stupidity of this film? Anyways there was nothing retarded about Gladiator fighting the emperor, it's noit like they actually allowed Maximus to kill the emperor, they fought each other, not to mention the emperor gave a little stab at Maximus before the fight, he thought it would be a easy win, he wanted to kill him and win back popularity that Maximus was receiving.

Also, theres no such thing as perfect, he had to choose between killing Guy or letting many people die, you would rather let all those people die instead of killing some prick? Not to mention like you said he already boned his wife, thats already a sin, the screenplay is flawed like nobodys business. Im surprised Ridley Scott went along with that script, he couldve easily changed things about it.

Anyways when all is said and done, the comment about being " REAL " holds no weight.
