Hopefully THE RING TWO will hold up well, although the chances look doubtful

If The Wedding Date somehow managed to open to $11M on less than 2000 theatres, explain to me why this won't get a lot higher than that on 3,000+ screens. Well, for starters, The Wedding Date's trailer wasn't booed when I saw Hitch. Also, that had Valentine's Day coming up. Not to mention Bullock has been off-the-map for some time, and this looks thoroughly unnessecary. And as Alex Young pointed out, sequels to movies with broad appeal toward women never do well. Bridget Jones, The Ring, Legally Blonde, Charlies Angels, all were overpredicted Um, even though they were over predicted 2 of them still did over 90mil, and Ring Two still will do 38-40mil its first weekend out. So only one of them didnt do so hot ( Bridget Jones 2 ) For a sequel to a movie that did over 100mil and will be in 3000+ theaters, 12mil is WAY lowballing it, it's appeal ( 30+ year old women ) will flock to the movie. Y'know, you're right. Analyze That and The Whole Ten Yards are much better comparisons. Oh, and not a single women I know, over or under 30, has ANY interest in this. Maybe it's just my audiences, but I've heard nothing but hate for Miss Congenialty 2. Obviously you hit Ring Two right on the money, so I guess you would know what people wanna see and dont just by asking a few people you know..... All I know is that MC2 will do a better then Wedding Date did, especially with almost 1500 theaters more, even if it sucks bad, chick flicks shouldnt be taken lightly.
Man, so what? This is what I hate, when people try and say that your argument is wrong becuase you were wrong about one prediction. Shit, before The Ring Two, do you have any idea how many movies I called? I said Robots would make 35 million, Hostage would do better then expected with 10-12ish, that Coach Carter would kick Elektra's ass, that Diary of a Mad Black Women could surprise, that Hitch would be a huge hit, that's thusfar the only big mistake I've made this entire year. I'm sure I could pull up tons of predictions you or anyone else has made that they've been wrong on, does that mean that you'll be wrong about everything? Hell no, so don't try and shove that bullshit down my throat man.
And it's not just a few people. I can not find ANYONE that wants to see this. My younger sister saw Congeniality 4 times in theaters, FOUR! But she thinks this one looks terrible, and that's the general vibe I've been getting. Theater count, rating, genre and all that aside, what do you base your prediction on? Personal preference? I go with the general vibe I get from people and from the crowds, and 9 out of 10 times I'm right, so don't try and look down on me like I'm any less then you are.

Killuminati510...
I don't know how you could say that MovieDude doesn't know box office because of one overprediction. No one is the perfect predictor. Hell, Ragnorak predicted $64 million, and he's the best predictor on the site. You overpredicted Robots when I (and MovieDude) both said it would fail to do so and land around $35 million.

Ring Two is probably gonna plummet next weekend. The reaction was not good when I was walking out. Probably 55% or more.

The Ring Two will probably drop over 65% consider the drop for Saturday. Reminds me of The Matrix Revolutions. A franchise I love. Disappointing opening. Horrible legs.

I think it has a chance of dropping worse than The Village. The Village was in the summer, though, so The Ring Two should drop 64-67%.
Anyone who doesn't the Ring Two will drop more than 60% is an idiot. Even Exorcist: The Beginning of 2004 dropped 61%.

Dont worry
Ive made my nf7 early bird prediction for it today; will follow tomorrow with preds for weekend releases
1. Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabooo - $27.4m 3day/$30.1m 4day
Women loved the first one inspite of bad reviews; i dont see why this one should be any different and every time girls see the trailer they die in laughter. [as do i ]

The first one got 39%, three times higher then the 13% that it's sequel is batting.

The fact remains that it's a sequel to a movie that wasn't well-reviewed in the first place. Given that sequels are almost never as high as the original when it comes to critics, it's hardly surprising.

That's true, it's not surprising, but it does just seem to cement that this movie doesn't like like much of a hit. How many movies have ever been big hits that got under 15% on RT and didn't have a primarily teenage male audience that doesn't even read reviews?
