I was thinking about $20 million as well. Like everyone else, I low-balled, but it seems everyone who runs a prediction website downgrades any new horror film coming out. People predicted a $6 million opening? It just seems they don't understand how big of a market there is. Hell, Lee pretty much said on his website he doesn't even expect Ring Two to top $30 million opening weekend.

I literally laughed out loud, a first when reading a dead serious article about the box office, when his friend said "I think that Dreamworks will release it in above 2,000 theaters to get a killer average since it obviously can't get near The Grudge."

The limited releases look good for my Pair game. :) Even though my derby is pretty much screwed.

Me too. :) I went under 1m for Kinsey. I really don't get what was with those 2m+ predictions. Even the ones over 1m seemed to high for me.

I took a risk by going over 1m for both Hotel Rwanda and Million Dollar Baby. I even though of going as high as 1.6m for MDB, but chickened out.

Looks like the marketing over the past week has paid off for Hotel Rwanda.

I went with 1.6M with M$B and 1.0M with Hotel Rwanda. :) I didn't think it's that risky from my analysis.

I had 2.8 for TPE.

Good job. I wish I stayed with 1.6m for MDB. 1.3 still isn't that far off though.

Incredible!

White Noise is going to do what I originally predicted before seeing the theater count.

Sunday will be a big drop for all movies except kids/family movies (+ 40%)

Yeah, well 20% was easiet to calculate in my head. I need to revise it, when I work on other predictions. I didn't have a calculator handy.

Nice for White Noise. Although it will probably struggle to $65M, it'll be profitable.

Meet the Fockers is amazing. It's going to make nearly $10M more this weekend than I thought it would. If it keeps this up, it might have enough gusto to approach $300M.
