I've seen this flick, actually. Pretty good stuff. I don't think it fully exploited it's potential, but it's better than most horror films that are made now.

Don't worry about the PG-13 rating, too. I've seen the R cut, and it's as close to PG-13 that you can get. The only thing they'll need to cut out is some "F" words.

If you want to see a better flick by the same director, check out The Nameless.

Good to know that you've seen it. I really liked it. What did you think about the ending? I thought it was the best part of the whole movie.

Well now I am going to have to see it. Even if it is bad.

You mean the last fifteen minutes or so inside their house? I thought it was great. I loved the demon looking creature crawling on the ceiling. I thought the very end, though, was kind of confusing.

*SPOILERS*

Did the "Darkness" trick them into thinking that was the girls boyfriend in the car? Was it actually another demon? Or did they get away safe and unharmed?

*** SPOILERS ***

It was the "Darkness" that tricked them. It tricked the mother first, so she'd set off the light and then it tricked the girl and her brother. This way the Darkness killed them all.

That's what I thought. Good ending. I still don't think the film reached it's full potential, though.

I have seen The Nameless; it isn't bad, but I didn't get the ending?

*SPOILERS*
Why AXXXXX didn't attempt to kill her mXXXXr until the end of the movie?

She could have killed her mXXXXr in the factory. But she only took a video record of her mXXXXr behavior.

Miramax moves THE AVIATOR to 12/25.

It means that two Miramax movies will be opened on 12/25.

If the move of THE AVIATOR, I think that Miramax will ingore DARKNESS, and it will become a huge box office flop.

New prediction:

With the move of The Aviator, I am almost 100% sure that Miramax will move Darkness again. They might aswell just DTV it and get it over with. Seriously, Miramax/Dimension are the absolute worst studio when it comes to horror films. They have no clue how to market/release them. They should just do all fans of horror a favor and stay the hell away from the genre.

Might be a big week for Miramax.

And yes, they do need to learn how to distribute movies properly. How long has Mindhunters, which is a fairly decent movie, been on the shelf?

In fact , Rosenbaum suggested that about half of Miramax's acquisitions are never let out of the can; Miramax bought those films just to keep other distributors from getting hold of them..

Good man :D

I don't think you'll regret it, it belongs to the better horror stuff that is being released nowadays.

Now, this movie's TV commercials is airing on TV channels in US.

Here's hoping Miramax will not yank it from the schedule at the last minute.

According to filmjerk.com newly updated information:

DARKNESS theater number is increasing - from 1000 screens to 1250 screens.

On the other hand, both THE AVIATOR and FINDING NEVERLAND will expands to 1500 screens on Christmas .

It seems like that Miramax will rule this Christmas.

Hopefully Finding Neverland will have a great weekend. I'm sure the Oscar buzz will also help. It should stick around in theaters for quite a while.
