Post Re: Theaters will NOT shut down
Literally everyone went to work/school sick with mild colds before COVID. The theater kids would perform with barely any voice for the winter show half the time. Only time I stayed home was for extreme things like the flu. IF I was just congested or had a cough, sure I went to school/work.

I work from home right now, so I don't have to worry about it currently.

It's one thing if you have a serious illness like the flu or COVID before we had a vaccine that could hospitalize or kill people in large numbers. But society can't function if no one is allowed to get a mild cold. It is a fact of human existence.

Did we shut down theaters every other cold and flu season because people were sick with common colds and the flu? There's no evidence that Omicron variant is any more severe for vaccinated people than your average cold.

There's just one minor spoiler: 126m U.S. citizens are not vaccinated...

Majority of unvaccinated people got the Delta variant, so the ones that survived that have some level of resistance to future variants

Theatres don't require X amount of staff by law like airplanes and airports do. People are getting sick and have to quarantine and suddenly you don't have enough air stewardesses or airport security people or whatever. Whereas a theatre needs the dude checking your ticket at the entrance, maybe a couple cleaning staff and you're good. If we were treating COVID like the flu at this point like some argue we should (I'm not an expert so not going to comment on that particular matter) then most of those would go work even if they were sick like everyone used to do. I mean I can't count the amount of times I caught a cold after a co-worker was sneezing in the cafeteria. No one used to care. It was whatever, you get sick and you get better. Now it's different. No one wants long COVID.

I will. Saw Licorice Pizza and Spider-Man on New Year's Day. Will see The 355 and will see Scream possibly many times barring the quality.
