I think $60 million is a little excessive. Maybe even $50 is, too, but comparing it to The Grudge, I see what you guys are saying.
Eek.
I'd say $45-50 million at the moment.

If it makes less then 40 million:
Gastu will make a thread asking if its a flop, and if horror films are dead.
(hes already asking if cgis are dead due to robots opening day)

I'm saying i wont be disappointed by that. Its april and as good as it may look to people, i still maintain that this is an unneeded sequel and carries the possibility of being a complete rehash of the old one. Remember that the Ring had something going for it .. a pretty cool thing which will now be lost on us as we've already been introduced to it. It could pull a Jason Bourne or an Ocean's 11. can go both ways. Either way, its outgrossing Amityville
All I'm gonna say is this: You all need to get off this whole "Just because it's PG-13, Automatically means it'll outgross an R-Rated Horror movie" because it's a load of crap that's when this movie comes out, will shock the shit out of all of you, you included Baba when Amityville Horror blows the doors at the box office.. It's not a rehash like the RING II appears to be and is more known than you folks are failing to give Amityville credit for just because your high school buddies aren't talking about it like The RING II.. I look forward to revisiting this thread next weekend at this time when RING II doesn't make anywhere near as high as your all expecting it to..

And I look forward to Ring 2 pulling a $50 million+ opening weekend, and your numerous posts saying it'll drop 70%+ in week two.

People arent predicting 50+ because its PG-13, they're predicting 50+ because its The Ring.

Who said it was gonna drop 70% in it's 2nd week?? Me?? When did I say that?? Hell, I haven't even made it passed the opening weekend blunder coming up yet much less focusing on it's 2nd weekend..

I'll tell ya what though B. I know you'll have all those signature things going with The Amityville Horror, but I'll challenge ya right now. On March 20th when the weekend estimates for The Ring Two are out, if it's below 40 million I'll put whatever you want in my signature until April 15th. Anything, you name it. I'll tell ya what, if it makes 40-45 million, neither of us have to do anything. But if it makes over 45 million, you'll put whatever I want in your signature up until April 15th when The Amityville Horror opens and you have all those other signature things to deal with. Sound fair?
Fucking right it sounds fair.. I'm a Gambling Man and I'm telling ya folks, your going to be awfully surprised when Amityville Horror beats the snot out of The RING II next month.. Hell, after that 1st Bad Review I posted of this movie, I can't believe there haven't been more screenings of it yet.. I'd laugh if the studio decided not to have critic screenings to this..

You know, it's almost as if BKB forgot public/critics screenings take place on either Tuesday or Wednesday of the week of release...

Yeah, but you would've thought there would've been more by now though for something supposedly as so popular as you all claim this is..

So you expect screenings two weeks in advance, a la Return of the King and the Prisoner of Azkaban? I guarantee you it's being screened to the press, as I have my pass for this Tuesday.

Dude, I'm a Man of my word, but the only crow that's gonna be eaten will be from all of you next weekend when this movie opens no where near as high as your all thinking it will.. Here's another site I've posted this bet to along with this thread:

Yes, why not?? Why shouldn't it be if this movie is as popular as you all brag about it to be..

I'm not wasting my $$$ on this crap cause I thought the 1st movie sucked big donkey balls and this one looks exactly the same... I've loved Amityville for years now Son, long before Michael Bay even thought of reduxing this movie.. It remains one of the Great unsolved mysteries of our time.. Can't wait for The History Channel Investigations into the Amityville Horror to come out on the 15th of this month..

Oh please. Spider-Man 2 didn't even screen to the press until two days before opening. I take it that wasn't expected to be popular?

That explains a lot, at least in terms of the film series. Each and every one of the Amityville films has either be dull (Amityville Horror) or flat-out terrible (just about every sequel thereafter).

Na Impact, if BKB wants to see a movie or thinks it'll make a lot of money, he loves it no matter what, it doesn't matter. Same with if he hates it. Has he ever changed his mind on something like that?

Everything about Amityville I'm sold on.. How can you not be?? That trailer kicked ass and I dug the Grim, Gritty look it had to it.. However, I still loved the original though because the movie came off more as a documentary and using the real house than they did with this.. It's pretty obvious they couldn't use the real house in this remake cause the new owners would sue the holy hell out of MGM for it plus they had to change the address in the movie from 112 Ocean Ave to 412 Ocean Ave..

Why??? Hell, imagine if you were the owner of that house today and you had to put up with all the Media and tourist coming up on your proerty and trying to break in the house at all times of the night and whatnot??? After awhile, that would be sort of a drag and I'd probably want the studio to change the address to... The only problem I still see with that is people still know where the house is and what it looks like and it sort of hard not to..
