"Identity lacked the personal story due to Marie's death. And Joan Allen."

I'm saying the first film lacked these things that the second has.

With us now knee deep in what looks to be an incredibly boring summer, lets refresh what was most's favorite box office run to follow...TDK.

"TDK owns midnight records"
"TDK owns Friday record"
"TDK owns 3 day record"
"TDK made 500 million....in the U.S."

Somerthings never get old.

YOu are missing few other high points.

1) Sunday and monday drops. Absolutely stunning numbers.
2) Almost beating BB in 5 days
3) Crushing fastest to 300 and 400 records.

IMO It could keep this records for a while

True, but I like that last one.

"TDK made over 500 million....in the U.S."

Do yall even comprehend how absurd that is? Prior to May, theres a decent question as to whether it would make that world wide.

thos eare word of mouth summer hit sequels...so id say the least amount tdk wil lgo up is 35% cause it was a lot better recieved then x3.

205+35%=277 million minimum yeah i said it

Surprisngly....I pretty much agree with excel 100%. Though I think the minimum increase is 30%, so I'll say 265m is the minimum. Can't see it opening lower than 100m, and I don't see it getting a multiplier below 2.65 in July.

Yes, 100m OW is pretty much the minimum now. You all have seen how big OW are. This will easily have the hype to get a 100m+ OW in July.

Lmao at my screen name

As if you needed much evidence for whether Warner Bros.' next Batman offering The Dark Knight will be a certified mega-blockbuster, MovieTickets.com just released an internal poll showing that Christopher Nolan's latest offering could be the biggest debut of the summer, if not the entire year. According to the poll, 81% of male moviegoers and 66 percent of female moviegoers polled June 10-15 intend to see "The Dark Knight" opening weekend. 100% of ticket buyers polled were aware of The Dark Knight's release this summer, compared with 49% of ticket buyers three weeks before "The Incredible Hulk" and 36% of buyers three weeks before "Iron Man."

Travers informs the world. The film of the millennium has arrived.

redfirebird2008 wrote:
Travers from Rolling Stone gave it 3.5 out of 4 stars and compared Batman's struggles in the movie with Michael Corleone's in Godfather II. He said he has nothing but superlatives for Ledger's performance and that he will gladly sign up on the list of people wanting Ledger to get an Oscar. He gave Begins 3/4, so this is actually an improvement. Fuckin' great news I think.

Spoiler: show
Rachel dies. She is tied to a chair surrounded by gasoline barrels and timed explosives which go off after Joker gives Batman the wrong address to save her (instead Batman finds Dent who's stuck in a similar situation to Rachel).

Batman captures but doesn't kill The Joker after his failed attempt at a terrorist "social experiment" involving two ferry boats rigged to explode and the passengers have the choice of either imminent death or detonating the opposite boat. The Joker then reveals that he's managed to lure Dent into criminal insanity after the death of Rachel Dawes, leading to a murderous rampage committed by Dent/Two-Face in his blind quest for vengeance.

Dent kidnaps Gordon's family in order to make Gordon suffer the same way he did after losing Rachel. Batman arrives just in time to save Gordon's son and sends Dent plummeting to his death. That's right, Two-Face dies. Gordon sadly remarks on the inevitable disillusionment of Gotham once Dent's crime-spree as Two-Face comes to light. Batman decides to take the blame for Two-Face's actions in order to preserve Dent's legacy as Gotham's redeemer. As Batman flees the encroaching police, Gordon explains to his son that Batman is the hero Gotham deserves, but not the hero it "needs right now. He is more than a hero. He is the silent guardian. He is the Dark Knight." Cut to credits.

That MTC report saying its already outsold presales of SM3, POTC3, and POTC2 (not combined but individually) is insane. Like, if it was Wed. of next week it would be great but not that crazy. But the fact that there's still 8 days of presale time left is incredible.

10m+ on midnights is a lock. Yes, a lock. 50m+ OD is also a probable lock. SM3 OD day is within reach but I still think that it won't have enough screens to get that extra few million to beat it

I'm starting to think an even more lower internal mutiplier, because buzz and hype seems so high that people are just going to massivley rush out. I first pegged it at 2.35 IM, and now I think I may peg it at 2.3. It's Saturday drop is looking like it will do 25%+.
