 Re: 2024 Draft Group 2
I mean, anything is possible, but I really doubt Wicked makes the $400m+ you would need.
And I have little faith in Joker 2. I don't believe it can do much more than the first. Moana 2 would need more $500 million. The numbers just don't stack up for Flava, imo. But It Ends with Us is definitely giving him a much-needed success story. He was collecting duds all year.

Winning because of Moana would feel cheap but I'd take it just so algren would forever have to live with the shame of being beaten by a team with Horizon on it.

 Re: 2024 Draft Group 2
Wow, I am $360 million ahead of my nearest chaser (flip1), and this will only grow because Romulus has only just started. Riggs is the next chaser to narrow the gap with Beetlejuice, but by that point I will be $450m ahead of flip1. You guys need to step up your game!

 Re: 2024 Draft Group 2
Going with safe ip was the right move this year. Anyone who took a risk in the first few rounds got burned by it. Completely different than last year when so many people who picked safe franchise films in the first few rounds got burned.

100%
I took a risk on Horizon and lost big time. Ah well.
This year more than ever - you needed one of the first two picks to have a solid chance of winning

 Re: 2024 Draft Group 2
See, I don't subscribe to that notion. I reckon any player could win with picking either Deadpool, Inside Out 2, Joker, Mufasa, or Despicable Me 4 in the first round. That's five great first round picks, and the sixth picker gets a double pick. So I think it has been a fair year. It's just that some people picked badly with things like Horizon 1 and 2, Furiosa, Fall Guy, Garfield, etc. There was money to be made if you picked shrewdly. For example, instead of picking either Horizon, Flava could have picked either Romulus and Quiet Place. Those would have netted him a combined $250m more. And Moana 2 may pay dividends for him yet as well. If he picked better PLUS the luck of getting a Moana 2 replacement, he could have been a real contender. . . and he picked second! No excuses. Shack picked third, when Inside Out 2 was still available ... but shat the bed with Dune 2. So, the game is what you make it.

 Re: 2024 Draft Group 2
Yeah, I don't think it's so much to having a top 2 pick determines the chances of winning with the snake draft style. But with a 550m cap one pretty much needs at least a 400m film to have a chance to win, and the jury is still a bit out on which films will be. While the pool for picking that 400m+ film gets slimmer at the end of the first round, so far looking back through years drafts it compensates with having the first pick of the 2nd round.

Yep, lol.
And Gladiator 2 isn't going to do well either. Your draft rests on Venom 3.

If there was no cap, Riggs would be third instead of fourth right now, two million behind second placed flip1.

I would have liked to have drafted A Complete Unknown but I don't see any of my picks moving.

But I encourage blaming Tatum

 Re: 2024 Draft Group 2
He also has three of the biggest flops of the year: Fly Me to the Moon, Borderlands, and Furiosa. With Kraven, lol, to come.
And it's unfair to say he will lose. Five players in each group will lose. There's only one winner.
Having said that, I believe Riggs will not be too far away. He has $695m now. Let's say Beetlejuice does $300m, that's $1bn. Smile 2 can do $150m, surely. Maybe a bit less but I underprojected Beetlejuice so it evens out. That's $1.15bn. I have $1.3bn, so he's only $150m away, and who knows, maybe Beetlejuice adds another $50m and Kraven does $70m. You can see how close it will be.

 Re: 2024 Draft Group 2
Riggs is now in 2nd place. It will be difficult to keep because Shack still has the Wicked/Transformers One combo and flip1 has the Venom/Gladiator combo. But it's going to be a decent battle, and who knows...one of them might even topple me. It's not out of the question and, dare I say, the more I look at the chart it's even likely!

zwack, at which point will you allow Flava to swap Horizon 2? I think it's pretty clear that it's not coming out this year despite no official announcement. Flava is desperate to get The Crow

 Re: 2024 Draft Group 2
I still feel confident of winning Group 1 but I feel Shack will pose the biggest threat. However, I don't believe that I can keep stuffp or zwackerm at bay on the overall leaderboard. I would say I'm already out of contention for that.

70% of the year is complete and Rev still hasn't reached $500 million. Jeez.
