Re: The Dark Knight Rises OW Record Club of Tickets Now on S
No one really thought it could go to a 207 million opening or even 200 million until Saturday numbers to be fair.
Saturday was crazy, I was tracking it and it seemed as busy as Spider Man 3 crazy Saturday 5 years and thought it should pass 60 million and then Nikki said 60 million and then RTH said near 70 million.. lol
I think you have to look at how TA opened and realize it had huge awareness and a lot more people went to watch it over Saturday and Sunday due to the good reviews.
As an interesting note, it will be interesting to see if TDKR can beat TA Sunday gross of 57 million. Needs around 52 million to match in ticket sales.

@BruceWayne: My sources tell me WB has issued a contract over Tom Hardy's head. The contract has been given to Jack Bauer.

At last weekends British F1 Grand Prix, the Lotus car of 2007 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen was emblazoned with the Dark Knight Rises logo... Here is a pic of Kimi's teammate with the Batmobile on track....

Re: The Dark Knight Rises OW Record Club of Tickets Now on S
I thought TDKR was better than TDK in everyway except Joker. Joker for me still is the most menacing villian I have seen for a superherofilm Posted by: b4bad on Jul 09, 19:27 in response to lobogotti's post hey b4bad, why don't you tell us a little more about your... That being said I will try explaing w/o giving away any spoiler. Bane is pretty good and Tom Hardy nails it. I also think they redid bane's voice completely. It sounds way more clearer than the 7 min preview we saw before MI. Catwoman is pretty cool too. And Christian Bale outshines himself compared to the last two films. He really comes to being on this one. He is weaker and is feeling the weight of being Batman. The catwoman and batman have good chemistry though I would not watch a Catwoman spinoff if they ever tried with Hathaway.
However, the biggest hero of this film is solid storytelling and pacing. I did not realize that it was close to three hours. I was feeling that with TDK (i loved it though). You know how in TDK it felt like the two face part went a bit longer. This does not feel that way. Everything keep getting grimmer and crazier and the set pieces are phenomenal.I think Nolan learnt a lot from Inception in terms of set design. You see a lot of inspiration from Inception (except the gravity defying stuff ) and this is a good thing.
One negative side there were some dialogues that were somehow referencing to the TDK (one liners mostly). I don't like reminding the viewers of the jokes from previous films (that is just me).
Again overall it lives up to the manic buzz it has amassed and it will definitely have a great WOM. Also, I am glad some films moved out of the way. This will crush most of the films on its path.hope that helps. tc b4bad Link - http://www.hsx.com/forum/forum.php?id=3&pid=190610

The wait is almost over. Although I have to wait a bit longer since they open it the 27th over here.
And I've been considering raising my prediction to 190 or 192 for the past week or so, but I think I'll stick with my 187m for OW. Oh, btw I did up my 485m total to 505m for the domestic gross.

Re: The Dark Knight Rises OW Record Club of Tickets Now on S
This imo is not as dark as TDK...
Its not a happy film but it seem to be a straight up showdown between Batman and Bane..
TDK was like Empire Strikes Back, Evil won the battle but not the war.
