Geoff Boucher from the L.A. Times confirmed that he has seen the film and said the last 15 minutes are "unbelievable." Sounds like Nolan managed to come up with another great Batman ending. It's good that we finally have reaction from someone other than anonymous sources. And you can't get any more legit than a credible reporter from the L.A. Times. Finally some real WOM on this film.

How was his TDK review? is he a fair and square critic or just a reporter?

Just a reporter, not a critic. He had a big article tonight about TDKR and people were asking him about it on Twitter. He said he wouldn't give any spoilers away, but that he did see the movie. He said he couldn't have written the article without seeing the movie. He also posted this on Facebook:

The Fire Rises people. To all non-believers, has a fire been started? Most definitely. Hold on there just a minute. This "dude" is a very credible journalist who, for years now, has been quite close and on great terms with Chris Nolan as well as David Goyer. Out of all journalists out there, he's probably had some of the most exclusive and insider access into Nolan's Batman films before they came out. Both Goyer and Nolan have given him a lot of privileged access and info about the Batman films, and he's already seen Rises. You better believe it that he's not in it just for the page hits.

Don't get me wrong. I have faith in Nolan. He's a very good director. I'm just amused by these people acting as if this random L.A. Times writer saying the movie is great represents a...validation of their hype or something.

He's officially the first journalist/blogger/critic to give us some detailed info that the 3rd act of the movie is full of twists and turns, give us confirmation that the ending is a big deal, and that it's an unbelievable ending and an overall better film than TDK.

Many of us have heard rumors of these things, or contemplated these things, but he has confirmed them. So for him to be the first to officially confirm these things, privileged access indeed .

It's more validation than some anonymous sources referenced by bloggers. "I heard from two people..." blah blah blah.
