Thanks for posting it, Dr. Lecter.
And wow, I'm really surprised that Canada would have such an effect. I mean, we only account for 7% of sales. It might have been pent-up demand in the US as well.

Well Sith is the top film of 2005 now. The question is will it stay that way?

It's official, Sith is the #1 movie of the year, and it will remain at the #1 position for the remainder of the year!
Congrats!

Sith is following the exact pattern of Attack of the Clones. The drops are only about 1.5% apart.

I think it is a normal drop for Sith. It fell exactly what Clones did. So you can expect a 10-13% drop tomorrow and a 1-3% drop on for Thursday numbers. This film will be at at least 275 mill by Monday.

Ooh... it seems like a big drop for ROTS. I'm sure most people were expecting over $10 million. I expect a 10%+ drop for Wednesday and 5%+ drop for Thursday if it is really frontloaded like I suspect.

You and DP sound very silly and have lost all credibilty regarding BO prediction.

A big drop for Sith? It's 1.5% more than Clones dropped.

Definately a bit more frontloaded then expected for RoTS, however I still think it will show strong legs through the remainder of the week. Using the multiplier of AoTC, it should still do somewhere between $420-$430 million, though I'm thinking it may end up more towards the low end of that.

It's not a bad drop really, it's just that a lot of people had overblown expectations.

Wow. Over 30% for Sith. Oh well I still think it can hit $400m. But, then again Kicking & Screaming fell 28% so it isn't that bad. Yesterday was a semi-holiday.

Damn, I hoped it would have dropped less, to maintain a chance of breaking Spidey 2's record for best week.
Of course, still a great number.

I'm just cracking up at the people who are actually depressed by a movie that held so well yesterday. Let's not forget that yesterday was a Holiday, people. Clones dropped 29%, too.

So you can expect it to look at it like this:
Wednesday- 8.7
Thursday- 8.5
Friday- 17.2
Sat- 24
Sunday- 21.5
Monday- 15.7
Tuesday- 5.1
Wednesday- 4.5
Thurs- 4.5
Friday- 7.6
Total of about 278 mill by Monday. This will surpass 300 mill by Friday of next week. Then it has the rest of the summer to cruise to 100 mill more. It will make it for sure.

But actually, his decrease predictions are right on. I predict a drop-off of around 13-14% on Wednesday and around 6-7% on Thursday. All of them slightly more than AOTC's. I also predict a smaller Friday increase than AOTC due to heavy competition from The Longest Yard and Madagascar and a 3-day drop of around 45-48% at least next weekend. Personally, my 3-day prediction for the upcoming weekend stands at $54 million.

Not really. Shrek 2 fell 30.3% on the same day last year and it ended up with $441m.

Another record: highest first 6 days!!!
'Spider-Man 2' opening week: $ 192.085.360
'Sith' first 6 days: $ 182.710.278
Without summer weekdays it came really close. However, still a great job.

I'd say more like:
Wednesday - $8.5 million
Thursday - $7.95 million
Friday - $14.6 million
I don't like going day-by-day, so I just predict a weekend mutliplier of around 3.75 from then on (3-day) leading to a weekend slightly under $55 million.

Yes, but Shrek 2 had a freaking $72m second weekend, with $95m in 4 days.
The film will fall behind SM2 tomorrow, but should bounce back during the weekend, only to have Shrek 2 crawl from behind, heh.
