 Re: Japan Box-Office: On Hiatus
I dont think he is coming back :-(
Anyway IO2 is opening with previews on 7/31 and Obon is around the corner as well. Let us see how the reception is. Pixar has all but disappeared from the market and so expectations are low.

 Re: Japan Box-Office: On Hiatus
horrendous year for Hollywood, especially Live-Action films. at least 3 animated films (Inside Out 2, Despicable Me 4, and Moana 2*) will enter the yearly top 10, but it's still bad. Even compared to the substandard years of 2023 and 2022 it's pretty disappointing. Only 4 live action Hollywood movies passed 1m admissions: Oppenheimer, Godzilla X Kong, Deadpool 3, and Venom 3.
*will probably make it unless it collapses.

 Re: Japan Box-Office: On Hiatus
Although this forum is mainly dead, I will say one thing is that I feel that Demon Slayer Infinity Castle 1 although it will def decline from Mugen Train 40B gross, in that my prediction it will gross at least 20B Yen.

 Re: Japan Box-Office: On Hiatus
Conan 2025 is looking like it's going to open huge. It could give Demon Slayer Infinity Castle a run for the top spot for 2025 if Demon Slayer drops a bit more than expected.

I would love to see a HARRY POTTER drop… 16.2m to 14m admissions (excluding re-releases)

 Re: Japan Box-Office: On Hiatus
It's not the OW which will determine how it will do, it is guaranteed to be huge, but how it holds in its 2nd weekend. Mugen Train fell only 9%. Let's see if Infinity Castle can even come close to that.

 Re: Japan Box-Office: On Hiatus
Unlikely to hold as well as MT but even breaking the OW record would be amazing.

 Re: Japan Box-Office: On Hiatus
I remember Corpse said there's some chance that any film (not limit to Demon Slayer franchise) might surpass Mugen Train record in opening day or opening weekend but absolutely no chance in surpassing total gross. And I think this prediction will probably be true. Though I'd like to add a condition in a rare event that Japanese yen inflate a lot there might be a film that can surpass Mugen Train in total gross.
