A sequel is officially in the works! While it's not entirely surprising, I was a bit concerned given that the box office performance could have been stronger. Releasing it the weekend before a massive film like Deadpool vs. Wolverine was definitely a questionable decision. So stupid! They should have switched this and Despicable Me.

Although the holds were solid, they could have been significantly better. Losing a lot of premium screens in its second weekend to Deadpool definitely impacted its overall earnings.

I'm really pleased to hear they’re moving forward with the sequel. If they choose a more strategic release date this time around, I believe it can outperform the original.

Anyway, I’m pretty pumped for it!

I feel like first week of May would be great for this though MCU will probably have many of those locked down.

I do think $300M+ was on the table here but they didn't keep it around long enough to get the full late summer / Labor Day bumps.

Add another big star with Powell and it could be a whopper.

Maybe Helen Hunt will be in this one.

They need to scale up the destruction with a super serious event and just embrace the two as a couple

I think just adding Sydney Sweeney and letting her be a bit sexy would do the job. It's a trashy blockbuster after all.

Loved Twisters. Pure fun. Another one should do well and maybe get to $300m.

They need to strike while the iron is hot with this one. Twisters was fun but not super memorable imo.
