Venom: The Last Dance 77m

A few smaller movies open, including Conclave which looks great and Your Monster starring Melissa Barrera. Don’t believe either will do much though.

I'm planning on seeing Your Monster on Monday night as part of the mystery movie. It's 100% going to be that. I'm always right about them . But yeah, it won't make much money.

Shawn @BOT is thinking Venom could open as low as 45m !!! I hope it does not go that low.

Tbh I'm surprised KJ hasn't predicted that too. It's very normal for KJ to not see a big success or flop but then try to predict "the next [insert film here]". That's just what Shawn has done.

Well it's all set up for Wickediator if Venom disappoints and November is pretty dead until then.

Wasn’t Venom 2 we were all expecting it to do really low then it did 90m?

If Venom falls that much the next years comic book films should be worried. I still think it will do $75m plus.

Conclave I once wanted to see andsee do well but now knowing about the ending - meh.

I think 60m is a good target for Venom 3 at this point. Presales at many markets are well below last movie and worse its doing way worse beyond previews. Below 50m would be absolute disaster.



Venom 2 had crazy ramp up in final 10 days. I think it was due to COVID and late change of release date. So far it does not look like Venom 3 would behave like that.

I feel sorry for the upcoming Lord of the Rings movie.

I sure hope sales for Venom 3 pickup. We don't need another box office disappointment.

Its trending down at this point. Pace at this point is half of what was for the last movie. I think best case scenario has to be 60m with a turn around.

I think sub 50m is most likely scenario at this point. Trend is horrendous.

I guess the Venom bros are saving their money for Wicked.

Damn, I thought Venom 3 was going to do much better, especially after Joker flopped.

Almost 3,000 theaters for We Live in Time. Goddamn. I expected closer to 2,000. I wonder how it will do.

It is a small film that can do well over time. Going too big too early will kill it, imo.

Looks like 7m previews. Walkups today were no where as good as what was seen for Venom 2. I am thinking 50m OW at this point.

which, if you squint your eyes to avoid remebering the specific OWs and totals of the other movies (and the presumed expectations for this one based on those performances), $50m OW is actually pretty decent for a third Venom movie. The success of the first two still doesn’t compute for me
