 Practical Magic 2
So in the most random sequel category today, Variety reports that Practical Magic 2 with Kidman and Bullock is in development. Surprising because it made $46,732,881 from a $75M budget in 1998. However, Kidman and Bullock really became stars at another level post Miss Congeniality / Moulin Rouge in the 00/01 time and have stayed relevant. How will this do? Bullock does seem to have some consistent starpower so feels like it almost certainly could double the original film's gross at least for $90M. Still, won't probably come out until 2026 at the earliest (28 years later). https://variety.com/2024/film/news/prac ... 236030299/

I've actually never heard of Practical Magic but I love the idea of a Bullock/Kidman combo.

 Re: Practical Magic 2
I actually watched Practical Magic for the first time this year on Hulu lol. Was pretty strange lol such a 90s movie
Idk about this but yeah, having Bullock and Kidman come back is appealing

 Re: Practical Magic 2
Goodness, this is bringing back memories. Surprised this was even considered. I bet Kidman and Bullock met over lunch and reminisced about how fun that project was....then called their agents. :-D

 Re: Practical Magic 2
I remember when this came out and it was sort of a mid-range hit. Probably adjusts close to $100m now.
Though never knew people were clamouring for a sequel! Maybe the studio confused this with hocus pocus.

 Re: Practical Magic 2
The first lost money theatrically. Only reason for this is the stars want to hang out.

They're thinking outside of the box. I like the idea. I bet it goes and does well

 Re: Practical Magic 2
I haven't seen the original in years, but I liked it well enough when I did watch it. I'll make sure to rewatch it before the sequel comes out.
As random as this sequel is, I'm actually looking forward to it. I think it has the potential to do pretty well—maybe even double what the original did at the domestic box office.
