 October 6-8 predictions (The Mehxorcist)
This could’ve been a bigger deal on paper but it doesn’t feel right. 25 mil.

Running scared from Taylor wasn't a good look. It should still do well enough though.

This has proven to be a big debacle. I'll go optimistic with $30m but it could go lower.

It's Halloween month. I'm betting on it pulling a late resurgence. $38m

Re: October 6-8 predictions (The Mehxorcist)
The trailer was very cringe. I also don't think audiences care at all that Ellen Burstyn is back. The original is remembered for the creepy possessed girl, not the mom character.
Name recognition alone and being an 'event' horror movie in October should lead to a $30M OW but I don't see much beyond that. And probably horrible legs.

Linda Blair needed to be in this.

What this film needed is for a cast member to have died during production from something unexplained like spontaneous human combustion. Create an aura of it being cursed.

Wow reviews are even worse than I imagined. Switched my ticket for tomorrow to The Creator and will wait to see if any of ya'll like Exorcist first.

Oof. Kinda glad, if reviews were great I would've forced myself to watch it like I'm actually seeing Saw tonight lol

Guess spending $400M for the rights to the movie couldn't produce good reviews!

Re: October 6-8 predictions (The Mehxorcist)
I knew this movie would be shit as soon as they announced Who was directing it. Also, that interview Ellen Burstyn did some months back admitting she only did the film for the money to leave for her family was also telling. I bet it has a good first 2 days and drops like a rock after the wom gets out. There won't be another 2 films of this, hopefully Saw X has a good drop.

Re: October 6-8 predictions (The Mehxorcist)
unless weekend walkups are crazy strong I am thinking 3m previews/25m OW.

Apparently it's looking like around 2.75 Million in previews and a high 20's weekend. Ouch. This is what they get for continuing to hire David Gordon Green. They need to cut ties with him. Hopefully this being garbage and disappointing at the box office will do the trick. I was going to see this. But now I'm not sure I'll bother with it in theaters. This weekends priorities are The Royal Hotel and When Evil Lurks.

Re: October 6-8 predictions (The Mehxorcist)
No RT audience score yet (I feel like they've started hiding it if it's a less-than-great score right off the bat?), but on the Atom app (which is also only verified ratings) it's currently at a 3/5 average with 27 ratings, which is REALLY bad - it takes a lot to have an average below 4/5 on there.
