 Saw/Creator/Paw Patrol Weekend
- P Saw X Lionsgate $2,000,000 $2,000,000 - P The Creator 20th Century… $1,600,000 $1,600,000
Looks like low 20's for Saw and mid to high teens for Creator

 Re: Saw/Creator/Paw Patrol Weekend
Great for Saw! Looks like it will have a solid run.
OK for Creator but that also includes Wed screenings so not sure how well it will do over the weekend.
Saw only had a $13M budget vs $26M for Paw Patrol and $80M for The Creator so horror/family movies wins again.
A note to Vin on how to keep budgets in control with a 10th movie in the franchise.

No news on Paw Patrol? Oh, but I suppose it isn't the type of film to have previews.

Sucks that The Creator couldn’t have the weekend to itself like originally planned. Damn the pups & puppet

 Re: Saw/Creator/Paw Patrol Weekend
Serious sci-fi is obviously a hard sell. The Creator's RT score is the worst out of the weekend's openers. Still fresh, though. Saw X - 87% CFDumb Money - 85% CFPAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie - 80%The Creator - 67%I wonder how much a fresh score helps a film like PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie. I mean, it can't hurt it but how much does it really tip the balance for families to take a trip to the cinema when, say, the kids already love watching PAW Patrol at home. Maybe a 100% Saturday bump

 Re: Saw/Creator/Paw Patrol Weekend
Last Paw Patrol movie made $40,127,371 domestic/$144,327,371 worldwide with a $13.148M 3day weekend.
Although that was still in the pandemic dumped into late August 2021, the fact that the follow up movie could have a chance at nearly 50%+ higher OW bodes very well for the franchise's durability in popularity. Had a 3X multiplier last time so maybe this one from a low $20s OW can reach $70M+.

 Re: Saw/Creator/Paw Patrol Weekend
The marketplace is wide open for kids options, so this time I feel its multiplier will be even better. Wouldn't be surprised by $100m or near.

 Re: Saw/Creator/Paw Patrol Weekend
1 Saw X $8,000,000 2 PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie $6,800,000 3 The Creator $5,600,000 4 The Nun II $1,325,000 -45% $73,409,534 5 Dumb Money $1,300,000 +31% $5,100,670 6 The Blind $1,264,140 $2,103,782 7 A Haunting in Venice $1,056,000 -41% $28,871,091 8 The Equalizer 3 $760,000 -44% $83,987,935 9 Stop Making Sense $368,972 +11% $2,336,918 10 Barbie $365,000 -54% $632,017,303
Barbie finally leaves the top 5 after 10 consecutive weeks! What a run!
Very good for Saw and Paw Patrol. Why The Creator and Dumb Money didn't just go wide last weekend is beyond me, where no movie made more than $9M.

There's not another movie for little kids until Trolls Band Together on November 17th. Paw Patrol is going to have a very nice run.

 Re: Saw/Creator/Paw Patrol Weekend
Paw Patrol needs a 4.35X multiplier to get to $100M so feels very reasonable.
Equalizer and The Nun look to be in the $90s range as they wrap up their runs. So close to $100M but solid performances.
The Nun will be in its 5th week and likely under $2.5M next weekend so the ingredients are there for an Exorcist breakout before the Swifties take over the box office. Though Saw seems to be better received so maybe it can have some decent legs.

 Re: Saw/Creator/Paw Patrol Weekend
Creator did ok. It’ll probably do about 50m domestic. Might break even at some point.

Too bad Saw or Creator didn't hit 20m. Think The Creator would have been better off last weekend...

 Re: Saw/Creator/Paw Patrol Weekend
Fuck yeah! I've been saying for weeks that PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie was set up for a big performance. It's had weeks pre-release with nothing for kids and now weeks after there's also nothing else. Its floor is surely $80 million.

Superb for Paw Patrol considering how much of its demo will be watching it at home
Meh for the Creator, self inflicted stupidity opening it on this weekend.

 Re: Saw/Creator/Paw Patrol Weekend
Good for Paw Patrol - that's a solid expansion on the fanbase.
Yes $80m is the floor and $100m is a reasonable chance.
Saw X is OK. Though with Tobin Bell back - would have expected closer to $22m. How much in the tank does this franchise still have? Not much IMO.
As others have said The Creator should have opened last week.

 Re: Saw/Creator/Paw Patrol Weekend
Saw's marketing was kind of on the low end, but I think it would have done better had both Jigsaw and Spiral not come out, plus it's horror sub genre isn't really working anymore. But with Strong WOM might help even more in the next installment. Though Bell is 81 now too, so I'm not sure he'll be back.

I actually think Creator should have moved to Dune's spot once Disney balked on moving The Marvels. Would have made it feel like a bigger deal. And given them more time to change that horrible title.

Yes, that would have been a good idea. How the studios have left that date empty is annoying. Priscilla has it now but that won't get out of single digits millions. Perhaps The Bikeriders should have moved up a month from that silly early December date.
