This is basically being dumped in September between A Haunting in Venice and The Creator, two other movies that aren't being respected by their given dates.

It wouldn't surprise me if this makes just $25 million total.

I've watched the trailer again and it's quite inconsistent. It starts out being a War of the Roses / Deep Water erotic thriller, even the text doesn't feel part of an Expendables movie. Then it morphs into an all-out action montage, which doesn't do much to excite. The additions to the cast feel minor, and why oh why is Randy Couture still there??! Also, "they'll die when they're dead" is pretty lame.

Andy Garcia is stood next to a board in the trailer which has Vladivostock written on it. I think it was silly to delay or affect its release due to this.

It would be nice but you just know they won't. Stallone still views this as a Magnificent Seven-type boys club with laughs and beer bottle clinking, when what this series needs is STAKES. And it always has. The first was great, but the subsequent films haven't upped the ante. What should happen in the fourth is that Couture, Garcia, and 50 Cent should be executed on screen, and Arnold, Jet Li, Snipes, and Banderas it should be mentioned (or shown if possible) that they died since the third movie ... by Iko Uwais' character.

Stallone could even die, and probably should. That would instantly give gravity to the film. But maybe it's best he's just paralyzed or something so he doesn't die but he can sit out any future (lol) movies.

I think he will, he only filmed 12 days, so they either made him the Willis role, or he pops in for one action scene that is the catalyst for the film.

I actually thought 2 and 3 unrated were better.
