Dambulance! Looked like it was selling decently at local theater but I guess that did not translate. Weird.

That's double Sonic 1's preview lol. It'll be more frontloaded but at least 60m should happen.

That might mean sub 10 million for Ambulance. Woof. If it can hold onto screens till May maybe it can at least have legs.

Yeah I know it's mostly a family movie, but figured the addition of Tails and Knuckles might increase up-front demand from nostalgic gen-xers who don't have kids.


Also, saw a tongue-in-cheek ad for Ambulance on one of my streamers the other day. It was all like "Michael Bay movies always get bad reviews, but this one didn't! The first since The Rock and everyone loves The Rock!"

You don't release a movie called Ambulance two years into a pandemic and hope to excite moviegoers to come back to theaters. Contagion was popular at the beginning because it was free on a streamer.

I honestly feel another movie title could have increased its OW 50%.

What streamer had Contagion at the time? I had to rent it. It was also a very popular rental on iTunes.

I think O is thinking of Outbreak which was in the Netflix top ten pretty consistently during the first month of the pandemic. It also turned out to be syrprisingly accurate with the whole monkey released from a lab plotline. Contagion seemed eerily accurate at first, but creating a vaccine resulted in the end of that movie while real life did not go so smoothly.

Yeah it was one of those two so probably had been thinking of Outbreak!
