Re: Weekend Actuals - 2nd biggest OW of all time
I think my favorite thing about this is I still got to see this in a theatre with about 30 people total

Days of Future Past BO has to be one of the most disappointing Why? it completely revitalized the franchise in terms of box office and critically. This was coming off the franchise low of The Wolverine remember. DOFP is definitely better than No Way Home, but the X-Men franchise in general was never as big as the other Marvel films. Spider-Man is in that SW category so just a sense of nostalgia makes it a game changer. Adjusted DOFP is about 260 mil compared to 330-ish for X2 and The Last Stand. I consider that to be a pretty meh for having an excellent gimmick similar to Spiderman No Way Home

DOFP did welll but I know I was expecting a lot more. They should have done another movie with the First Class team before launching into the crossover.

What are we arguing? They asked for an example... I was just saying DOFP did it first.

DOFP moreso backtracked and turned First Class into a prequel rather than merging 2 separate universes together. DOFP was more of arum travel “oh look it’s a younger version of me” movie, Flash movie coming up is the best comparison for NWH.

Top 5 boxoffice run for me in terms of live tracking on online boxoffice forums (Titanic, Avatar, MBFGW, TFA, Endgame). In terms of OW shock value, this is a Lost World, Spiderman (2002), Avengers, TFA, Endgame level earthquake.

Avatar wasn't bad. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a very cool theater experience at the time it released. Can't say I love or that I rewatch it often, but it's a pretty decent film. Then again I'm probably in the minority who didn't like endgame at all, so, might as well be in the minority on this one too.
