Sahara's legs continue to impress.
Its chances for crossing $70m are quite good IMHO. Who would have thought after that opening...

Sin City Sunday drop is too big, while the Amityville one is too small, it wont hold that under 40% drop.

The Amityville Horror is probably overestimated a bit with that Sunday drop, but it's still a fantastic second weekend drop.

Where's BKB to salivate over The Amityville Horror's drop?
Also, The Pacifier's and Robots' holds show that there is an absolute void of family-oriented movies in the marketplace at the moment. Hitchhiker's Guide to Galaxy is the only thing coming out soon that is close to a family movies. Taking all that into consideration, I believe that Kicking and Screaming, the next real family film will have quite a big of an opening, maybe even $30+ million.

You hit the nail on the head, there, my friend. Robots was not only a terrible film, but its box office run is so confusing.

I don't think so, really. The market is so devoid of family films that parents desperately flock to movies like Robots. It's sold out every afternoon that I've gone to the movies the last four or five times.

Nice for The Interpreter. Everything else new is either mediocre or poor. King's Ransom, I laugh at thee.
Cause it just goes to show that RT is full of shit and I look forward to the WTF Thread asking how a movie so poorly ripped apart could sustain a less than 40% drop for it's 2nd weekend which is rare for any horror movie.. The RING II couldn't even do that.. It boils down to the fact that the movie just flat out kicks ass and the critics got it wrong..

It's also an Imax release.

It didn't drop 58%, rather 52% and that was because the weekend before had been inflated due to Fever Pitch's sneak previews.
This weekend is odd though.
