 Weekend Estimates (Oct. 02-04)
I don't see any available right now, but the re-release of Hocus Pocus did well on Friday ($650,000) and may have "surprised" over the weekend.

Tenet won with $2.7M. Hocus grossed $1.9M for second. Pretty good.
Are these going to be the last charts till 2021?

I’ve always said Hocus Pocus would do well in a rerelease. The sequel could do great numbers in a normal market.

Are these going to be the last charts till 2021? I'd say so.

I think the charts might still continue but WB would definitely keep reporting Tenet numbers but nothing exciting in these numbers. Maybe studios need to form a union and start disclosing their VOD sales.

RIP the entertainment industry
A lot of actors and singers are suddenly joining OnlyFans for this reason. Of course it's mostly C listers who were clearly overspending, but still.

It really is sad. But we will return to normal. They may end up being venture capital - or studio owned but theaters will sprout back quickly. #optimistic

I don’t know how they’d fund blockbusters in the future without theatrical revenue.

 Re: Weekend Estimates (Oct. 02-04)
Agreed without theaters it would definitely be difficult to fund huge blockbusters which is also the reason the studios need to stop being greedy and try to release at least one blockbuster to theaters and see how it goes and Tenet really did not count specially given the reviews were good but not glowing.

 Re: Weekend Estimates (Oct. 02-04)
I think besides superhero films and big franchise films there are gonna be waaaay less big budget gambles... sadly.
If we can bring back the rom com that'd be pretty sweet actually lol. I imagine once Hollywood gets back on its feet (gonna be awhile...) mid/small budget films are gonna be abundant.

 Re: Weekend Estimates (Oct. 02-04)
Sadly I don't think the theaters will survive this. I highly doubt any major release will happen this year. How many months can theaters go with no new releases? I understand Hollywood pushing everything back later and later, but there may not be a theater left to show these in down the road. I think this the end of an era, my grand kids will look at me funny years from now when I tell them about going to the movies. Sad.
