 Re: Thursday previews
Hopefully it's not too frontloaded, otherwise this isn't hitting 40m. The lateness of everything (both trailers, ticket sales) certainly didn't help.
I think it'll have a good drop next weekend though.

 Re: Thursday previews
The goal for me is still Shazam domestic. We'll see if it can have good word of mouth.

 Re: Thursday previews
That's weak number specially with current state of BO though it should cross $40m with this number right?

 Re: Thursday previews
It is very good they kept the budget low.
Suicide Squad's preview to opening would be a $26m opening... not happening but that seems like absolute worse scenario.

 Re: Thursday previews
Wow I never expected this one to flop. Sure there were a lot of things going against it, but this is a Harley Quinn movie that came out right after the Joker movie blew up pop culture. WB fucked up big.

 Re: Thursday previews
Not a good start at all for BOP. It would be really disappointing if it missed $40M and an utter disaster if it missed $30M. Great thing they kept the budget for this so low.

 Re: Thursday previews
With Valentine's Day and holiday weekend I really can't see Birds doing so low next weekend but these films are usually frontloaded so idk... hopefully the female audience freaking supports this. Deadline article said last night's audience was 58% male.

 Re: Thursday previews
Dark Phoenix had an embarrassing opening... and this might barely match THAT?! un-fucking-real.

 Re: Thursday previews
Unfortunately this never attracted the largest segment of the market for comic book films and that is males. Appeal was limited.
It might be saved by legs and a good second weekend but it may barely do better than Alita yikes.
And Sonic will likely beat it in overall gross.

 Re: Thursday previews
There’s room for the audience to expand, but it’s hard to say I’d the factors that hurt it opening weekend will continue to drag it down. Odds are legs are not that special. Have to see how audience reaction compares to critics.

Lol I knew it. I predicted high 30s OW but this is going to come even lower which is a mess.

 Re: Thursday previews
Not surprising after seeing an empty theater. Really bad timing tbh.
Joker will likely dominate the watercooler with the Oscars. Harley Quinn just felt better as a summer movie farther away. I do think legs could be decent.

 Re: Thursday previews
Yeah this could have used more space from Joker. This movie needed an opportunity to set itself apart. Joker’s success didn’t translate being a different sort of movie.
