 Re: Xmas #s
Their projections are way off. Little Women having a 24m 5-day from a 7m Wednesday? Lol k
Knives Out getting that kind of # now is actually pretty nuts. Its original 5-day was 41m.

Knives Out is a huge success. Maybe murder mystery genre is one worth pushing

I'm not sure why not. Using a 7 Million Wednesday my projection would be 25.789 Million for the 5-Day.

That's a MASSIVE number for Uncut Gems.

 Re: Xmas #s
I saw Knives Out yesterday, and our showing was easily ~90% full. Granted, it was only a 134-seater, but it was damn impressive after a month in release.

 Re: Xmas #s
Uncut Gems is looking at 30m+ total which is very good for the type of film it is. The audience going in expecting a "Sandler" movie lol

 Re: Xmas #s
I mean if general audiences are going into UG expecting another goofy Sandler comedy or something than the joke is on them, because they should know going by the marketing what kind of film it is. I'm sure its going to be pretty frontloaded, but I'd still consider a total over $30M a win for it considering just how much of a niche movie it is.

 Re: Xmas #s
Early estimates for BOT have Thursday for SW at 30.5. Still good.
Total should be 370m+ by Sunday so over Rogue One seems like it'll happen barring collapse.

 Re: Xmas #s
@Chippy I think it's more that the Deadline editors got a nice present under the tree from Disney's PR branch.
Between Murder on the Orient Express and Knives Out, murder mysteries are making a comeback. It makes sense as a genre that appeals to adults but is worth watching on a big screen.
